When I was 7 I had lucide dreams almost every night. But then I didn't know how much fun I could have in my "Dream world" Anyways. I have not had one lucide dream sence I was 7. And I really want to lucide dream again. How can I achive this? |

That's interesting...The only thing I can come up with is that back when you were 7 your mind was free and not bogged down by the real world, and now that your older too much is going on upstaires for you to just let go. I guess do things that calm your mind before bed.....I'm one to talk because I should meditate more and I dont, but also read some of the other posts with techniques people use like reality checks that can help. |

Yeah, I would also recommend relaxation. There was a time in my life where I tried to induce a lucid dream. I knew nothing about it at the time, but apparently what I did would be known as the WILD technique, which basically involves trying to stay conscious as you drift into sleep. It worked, and that is the only lucid dream I have ever had. It was very chaotic, and mostly revolved around sex(wasn't getting laid then(or now for that matter)). It was awesome though. Now, the only reason I can think that it might have worked is that at the time that it happened, I pretty much didn't care about anything. I mean, at least not the point of letting anything cause me discomfort. Unfortunately, I've only been in a state like that in my life a few times, and I fear it may be a long time before I become lucid again, especially since my reason for being (my ex girl) left me and... stuff... |

Well I used to practice astral project. But I never could get anywhere. I would always just fall asleep. And now I have no time to practice this. I just want to lucide dream to experiment. And see if it's possible to astral project from there. I mean im sure it's possible. But I wouldn't know how. Anyways, I will try what you said. But if you got anything eles that might help please tell. Oh yeah, I have heard that some drugs will help you achive astral project or lucide dreams. But it's bad for you or something like that. |

Hey everyone - |
|
There are a couple of threads going over techniques and such, yeah it is strange to think, trying to stay awake while falling asleep at the same time is weird, but I t does work, the methods I suggested seem to work well for me, it is triky though when you begin to drift off thats the hardest part, remaining focused and consious. |

Do you actually do WILD when you got to bed for the night? |

I do it sometimes, I almost always lucid dream but sometimes I get confused and think the dream is real due to reality checks not working for me, I use WILD as a surefire way so that I am completely aware that I am dreaming |

But you'll get a good night's rest from it? Does your body still go through the 5-6 hours of non-REM and non-dream sleep first? |
