      Does anyone else hate ld's?

I started having these dreams a few months ago and now I have them almost every time I sleep...even if I am just taking a short nap.

Last night I was scared sh**tless by a shaking head in front of my face...it was like something out of a horror movie. I couldn't wake myself up for what felt like a long time...oh and does anyone else try to bang their arms and legs against the wall to wake themselves up? I never can...I always try to scream and move and it seems like it takes forever.

These dreams make me not want to sleep anymore. Did anyone else ever feel like this when they started???

      man,

      they are a very interesting
      insane part of our existence,
      just ride those waves
and see where they take you.
      The brain,
      and our consciousness are insane
      Experience something unique,
      Do whatever you want,
      you can control your surroundings,
      Become a bird,
and fly away from that stupid face!

Do not give in to fear, face it and be careful.

      I hate sleeping

I totally agree with you. I started having these dreams several years ago, and I dream like this every friggin' night, and sometimes I'm too afraid to fall asleep again, because I don't want to see all my dead relatives and one of my childhood friends. That's my problem at least. But I guess I could live with those dreams, because for me the worst part are the false awakenings. They cost me precious hours at lectures etc.

Yeah but... then they would be dream signs. With a bit of practice, everytime you saw them you would know you were dreaming...

...and if you know that you're dreaming, you can learn to control it and stop the nightmare. Change something in the dream that isn't scary - or try the spinning technique and spin to a new dreamscape.

Sometimes I get lucid just enough to know I wan't out but barelly enough to be able to move. Can't control or change anything except for trying to wake up. The worst time was trying to wake up but couldn't. I ended up trowing myself face down on the ground until I passed out and woke up. Not fun.

There really should be a tutorial specific to waking up. I think it's the most important part of dreaming.

These dreams give you a chance to face your fears man, don't worry. And about banging your legs together against a wall to wake yourself up, I have a different technique. I try to blink as hard as I can constantly until I wake up, and it works quite well, although usually it takes a couple seconds.

I had a crazy LD last night, it was great.
