      My First WILD!

This morning I had my first WILD!

The beswt thing is that I tried only a few times, and only the first one I got to SP (the other times I saw at best some HI). That time I had tons of HI and a very strong SP, I couldn't even move a finger. I fell asleep -.-

Here's how it went. I woke up at about 7.00. Since I'm going to university and I haven't to follow the courses, I can sleep a lot in the morning so usually I wake up late, and I decided to stay in bed. I couldn't sleep, so at 7.45 I went to the bathroom and when I returned I said to myself "I could try something... WILD, but that's difficult... maybe FILD? Well, I'll start by relaxing, if I get to SP I'll try WILD, if I see that I'm falling asleep I'll try FILD."

So I wasn't even sure what to try. At 8.00 I started to relax, and I started feeling my body heavy. I told myself "Is this SP? So soon? Strange... Let's see"; so I tried to move a finger. It was very difficult, but I moved it, so I told myself "No, it's not SP... But I can't move my fingers for FILD with this difficulyty to move, I'll just try to stay conscious until I enter SP."

So I started counting "1, I'm dreaming, 2, I'm dreaming, 3, I'm dreaming" and so on. I didn't feel anything new, so I thought I would probably fall asleep as always without entering SP.

However, at about the number 75, I found myself lying in my bed in the same position, but my eyes were open. The window was open too (it was sunny outside), and the light was on. I realized there was something strange. First, I didn't remember to have opened my eyes. Second, if I was still in bed, why was the wuindow open and why were the lights on? Third, if the window was open and it was sunny outside, why were the lights on?

So I did a nose RC, and I could breath. "So, I'm dreaming!" I realized, and told myself to stay calm. I started getting up, but I was moving very slowly and I had a great difficulty on mantaining my eyes open. I told myself "I'm going to exit the bed and then concentrating on the world around me to increase stability and control, maybe that'll work for mantaining my eyes open too.". While I was getting up, I saw two stickers attached on my bed cover, with the images I normally have on two posters on the wall. I did another, longer nose RC to be sure I was dreaming. I was, no doubt.

Then, while trying to keep my eyes open (I was continuously opening and closing them), I opened them in real life and I was awake. I even remember a weird moment when I have my eyes half-open and I saw the real world outside but I was still seeing the dream inside my eyelids!

Anyway, it was an incredible experience (even if short): entering an LD without losing consciousness is great!

What should I do next time if something similar happens again? I thought I could try to stabilize while still in bed, would it work?

Another thing: I'm still having difficulty in getting to SP, how can I reach it easily? If I just relax, I fall asleep almost every time I try.

Thanks in advance for the advice! I hope I'll have more WILDs soon!

I've entered SP a few times, and it isn't that hard for me. What I do is lie down and focus on my breathing. The slower, the better. I focus on the exhale, how it kind of relaxes you, the sinking sensation... I do this until SP comes on, and it's harder to control breathing. I haven't gotten farther than that, but I will be sure to try.
      Congrats on the WILD!

Well done! There are many people who would love to be able to WILD, and is something to be happy about

      Thanks

I always focus on my breath when relaxing, but this makes me fall asleep almost every time... I'm trying to slowly count while breathing (counting the breaths or just counting, slowly, as I see fit), but it appears it has the opposite effect, it keeps me awake. However it works a little better than just focusing on my breath... some hints? Are there other valid ways to relax and enter SP?

Another thing: the first time I tried to WILD I had a lot of HI and a very strong SP. During it I fell asleep. Before my WILD I had absolutely no HI and barely SP; and I did not experience anything during the transition phase. Well, it made my task easier, obviously (it was a lot easier to concentrate), but does someone know why?

      Aah!
      That is so awesome
      I feel inspired!
I tried WILD this morning also
except, about an hour and half into just laying there
      I figured I'd give up
and I did, and fell asleep naturally
hopefully I'll have better luck next time!

The same thing happened to me. I've tried WILDing two times; the first time I just fell asleep (u.u), but today was my first successful one after a couple of weeks of thorough dream journaling . I didn't get any HI before I LDd this time, though.

Actually, I'm kind of doubting my LD. Here's my problem:

After waking up at 6 (I went to sleep at 12), I got up, read a bit more about LD, played some sudoku, had a breath of fresh air, jumped, rolled on the carpet (I know, I know) and went back to the sofa (where I'm sleeping) at 7. I tried relaxing for a long while; my body did get heavy and somewhat numb, and I had these feeling waves once in a while. However, it was dawning, and the light, birds chirping and the telephone ringing thrice prevented me from transitioning. At that point I gave up and went to sleep.

      However...

I found myself in front of a white building. I thought "I'm lucid" and this huge feeling of euforia and pleasure came over me. Immediately, I decided to float to the ceiling of the building and lifted myself off the ground. Before leveling with the roof, I decided I wanted to see a friend and willed him to appear. As I reached the roof, I saw my friend, but everything started getting fuzzy. I did the spinning thing and found myself in a chicken coop, with hens and ducks. I wanted to play with the hens, but they ran away, leaving only the ducks behind. At first, I thought I didn't want to play with the ducks because they bit hard and funny. But then I thought that I could will the feeling to subdue; I did this and it worked. The last thing I wanted to do was turn a duck a weird color. I took one and concentrated on it; pink hair started to appear along its spine.

So! My doubt is: did I really LD, having thought "I'm lucid" but not "I'm dreaming"? I know it's stupid, but I'm just so picky, it has to be exactly that way. The definition for lucid dreaming, everywhere is "realizing one is dreaming". What I did was realize I was lucid. Is it valid?

Sorry it's so long... I just wanted someone to confirm my experience and stop worrying my silly little head.

      Any help appreciated
