I've had success waking up and recalling dreams and had my second lucid dream last night! I was in my room with a woman and a child but the woman looked wrong - she was only about 2 feet tall. I immediately said, "hey wait a second...I must be dreaming!" Interestingly, the woman tried to talk me out of it. I grabbed the child's hand and ran out of the house and looked outside. There was an indescribably beautiful blue sky with these gorgeous mountains in the distance. Just then a dog came racing towards us as if to attack us. I turned to it and pointed and said, "STOP!" It then morphed into a smaller dog and ran off. After that the dream pretty much ended but it was great while it lasted. Well, that's the good news.
The bad news is before that, when I awoke at 3AM to recall my dream, I could NOT go back to sleep. I've found this to be a problem in the past even before I started trying to have LDs - if I get up and go to the bathroom, often times I can't go back to sleep for hours. I tried reading, watching TV, surfing the net - nothing helped. Finally at 5:30 I realized LD or not, I needed some sleep so I popped an Ambien and went back to bed. About an hour later is when I had the LD.
So, does anyone know of a remedy to this? MILD seems to be working great for me if I could just find a way to get back sleep quickly. Any thoughts?
