natural ability or luck?

SO, I started trying LD'ing about 1 week ago... Just keeping a dream journal and whatnot. Well, the other night I went to sleep with so much confidence just knowing I was going to LD that night... I kept telling myself I would LD before I fell asleep, and I did. It was pretty clear and everything, but lasted only a few minutes thanks to my l'il bro whining in the middle of the night... Was this just luck I LD'ed already, or was the confidence a big factor? Maybe it's easier for me than other people?

Confidence can be a bigger factor. Some people have them just because they think they will. Most people are not like that every day though, but when they get really confident then they have a lucid dream. It could also be luck, you never know about that. Hard to tell from one dream.

Yea, I am gonna try and go to bed with the same confidence every night. Maybe it will just come to me quicker... i sure hope so...
