Knowing who you are in your dreams?

I have a question to both lucid dreamers and those who have not achieved that skill by now. In your dreams, are you aware of your name, of your beliefs, and especially of your past like you are when you are awake? Because in my dreams I seem to be a figure without personality like a robot who is doing what the dream tells him.
I think this is important, because if you know who you are and what you are usually doing it would be very easy to recognize the peculiar dream world and get lucid.

Greeting Felixs!!! I will speak English this time!

In both my lucid and non-lucid dreams, I am always aware of who I am and I have most of my waking memories.

My perception in lucid dreams is usually the same as when I am awake. I know who I am, my past, all of my family members. About the only thing that changes is where I am, and my ability to control the dream fabric.

In my non-lucid dreams however, I sometimes have false memories, or dream memories if you like. It is kind of like, whenever I wake up from one of these, I realize. Hey, I never did that!
However that never happens in a Lucid dream
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Humm dream amnesia? Nope never experienced that. I seem to always know who I am in my dreams. My body may be in a different form or something but I am always me. Of course I am the center of the universe in my dreams! well almost always!

Just wondering has anyone had a dream where you were not in it at all... you just seemed to be looking in on something happening and you weren't there? Sorry if off topic!

      Peace... dream on!!!

In most of my dreams I'm aware of who I am. In other dreams it just doesnt matter...

I have a host of dream memories, chunks of dreams, half forgotten dreams, and integrated dream-reality memories...

I generally am aware of who I am. However I have come across a situation where It is me but not in a current train of thought.

From the forum Dream Signs And recall (It's me but not now)
      Code:
I have had several dreams which i'm in them, but not at my present state of mind. what I mean is - I could be having a vivid dream about when i was younger. But my mind set is the same mind set of when I was younger, Before I was ever introduced to Lucid dreaming. In return I do not see how it is possible to come to the conclusion that I am in a dream.

It is alittle frustrating because a good portion of my dreams revovle around the past. there are some where I am in my current state of mind. i then somtimes become lucid.

Yep. All the time. Had one last night. In the dream Jack Skellington from nightmare before christmas was breaking into the laboratory of some evil scientist, I saw him running around the corridoors of this tower lab, then he encountered an army of snake people who chased after him and he had to get away etc.

I'm not really sure if I was Jack or I was just watching it. I do know I wasn't anywhere to be seen as I look in real life.
      All Halloween Town Baby!

I always seem to be other people in my dreams.... Women, Giants, Jack Skellington.... Buzz Lightyear....

I have never had a non-lucid dream where I am not me and aware of who I am.

I guess I'm just sure of myself subconciously or something.

I'm rarely me in my dreams. Sometimes, but not much.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.

Same here. I'm hardly ever myself in dreams, but thats how I like it.
I'm me all the time in the waking world, so why not be someone different in the dream world.

See thats just the power that Lucid Dreaming holds.. Within any regular dream method, your normal train of thought is just a product of several different factors within that particular dream. Things conjured up from the waking world, past memories, past experiences, Desires, Dual personality traits, etc... Anyway All of your dreams represent some form of you rather you feel like its not you is just the lack of being able to communicate with ones subconscious thoughts. You will find that your personality is split up into several different traits without you even being fully aware. On the other hand Lucidity gives you a better edge. Your subconscious is more surpressed allowing your (Super-ego) Waking Conscious free to become active just like everyday in the waking world.
