      It Happened!!..Wow!!!

Third night in and it worked!
It's just before 5:00 a.m. and I am dreaming. I am taking a walk down my dead end road to greet new neighbours. I first stop at a huge Colonial style house with overpowering white pillars and all. (strange..i live in the country) I greet the old lady and her daughter and move on to the next neighbour(one who does exist in reality). She is building an addition to her house. When I return home I find that my mother sister and a few family childen are there. Suddenly we are all taken with the rainbow that appears in the horizon. Upon looking more closely i notice that the vibrant colours consists of many ballons flowing in a counter clockwise direction. They then turn into articles of bright clothing but still are flowing. I remeber thinking that this is strange but I still didn't clue in. Back in the house my elderly neighbour is talking to herself. I start to make my company some coffee but things are out of place in my kitchen. I go into the washroom and notice that there is no sink in my vanity. I finally think to myself that this is too strange and realize that I am dreaming. I pinch myself and it doesn't hurt. I go back to my company and tell my mother that I know that it's all just a dream (as if she were trying to pull one off on me). She smirks and weakly denies it. I point out that the dog at my feet that belongs to my grandmother has been dead for 20 years. The cat in the room I no longer own. Again just a grin. So go walk up to my sister who is washing the dishes and start dancing to "Ride Around Sally!" At one point I am taking the young children down off of the back of the kitchen chairs and I want to say something bold in a joking matter like "oh you stupid kids" but I think that perhaps my sister doesn't know that this is just a dream and I don't want to offend her.
      It was awesome!!!
P.S. I will soon be up for adoption.

      BIG CONGRATS!!!!!

See this is what I love to hear and not only that you stayed calm enough for your first Lucid Dream to play out. It feels good doesn't it. Just wait till you venture off outside of the house during one of these and you realize that you can fly.. Try that out next time the feeling of flying is totally undescribable. You are going to enjoy your second LD. I've heard that going Lucid the 2nd time around is far more exciting. Because the first usually sneaks up on ya so you don't know what to do pretty much. But after that then you start to think "what will I do next time? Should I try flying, or willing some things to move, or perhaps I'll create my own futuristic city with flying cars and everything". I tell ya the Options are limited only to your imagination. Great job Im proud of ya Zapheera.. Keep it up

..I do have one thing to say. pinching yourself is an obsolete reality test because it is possible to feel in dreams. I recommend using books or watches to test your reality state...they are less likely to fail.

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.

No No No... Different strokes for different folks. Why do I have to keep repeating myself. What may or may not work for you will utimately be different for someone else. As a matter of fact, when I was younger pinching myself was my reality check sometimes. Even though I knew I was dreaming I continued to do it because the enviroment was to real. And whenever I pinched myself I never felt pain. Some people just don't feel the same thing you do in your dreams. Now you better say congrats to her and I want you to say it NOW!!!

      Pretty cool...

As paperdoll said its better if you do something that will prove beyond doubt that it is a dream. Don't worry about offending dream characters, remember that they are not real....

Anyway, that was great and I wish you luck on ahieving your second LD...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Yeah Yeah yeah.. Listen.. Zapheera did your reality check work for you? Yes of course it did. Do what works for you and don't let anyone change your plan around that has already proven itself to work(for you). You all stop giving her advise that may alter her Lucidity capabilities. If it worked for her then, it works for her. Let her be her because she's not you!

I just suggested that she do that because she said that she was afraid of insulting her sister, because she wasn't completely sure it was a dream...

All I was suggesting is she try a method that will give her complete certainty, so she can do whatever she wants...

Ahh I feel the love!!!! I have to agree whatever works for Zapherra is what she should stick with. Maybe it wont work next time and she will try something else that will prove it is a dream without a doubt . If you try it again and it works let us know... well one way or another I'm curious. I have yet to find a reality check that works for me but I love all the suggestions. Ultimately it is up to the person and what works for them. Really she had a few reality checks in her dream because the stuff in the kitchen and bathroom were not where they were supposed to be... along with the dog and cat. The pinch was just reconfirming what she already knew, that she was dreaming! Anyway.... there ya go! Now stop fighting!!!! Or else!!! j/k I HAVE SPOKEN!

Edit: Oh yeah forgot Congrats on the LD! Woohooo

Thanks for all the feeback people. I feared nobody would be very interested since it is hard to find genuine support with my friends.( I suppose it takes a certain type)
I will continue to use whatever reality checks prove to work for me. When I think about it...just the fact that I am making a reality check probably means that I am indeed dreaming as I've never had to confirm being awake.
The reason I was afraid to offend my sister is this...I knew it was a dream and it seemed like my mother was "in on it" but I didn't know how my sister would react to my "goofing around". I didn't want to start an argument even if it wasn't real.

      Lovin' It!

P.S. Gee, I thought that I'de get some offers on adoption with m last post, guess noone wants me!!!

Alaurast is right there is no need for us to get bent out of shape like we usually do Truthbearer right? Alaurast did point out some very important issues here also.

Yep its amazing that sometimes without even knowing it our conscious minds are conducting reality checks for us. I believe we all go through this once we acknowledge the fact that we are dreaming. Usually my Dog taking the keys to my car and going out joy riding is one of mines.. Sometimes I think nothing of it. I just tell him please drive carefully and he barks and then he's pretty much on his way. Haha.

Im sorry I haven't even looked into that adoption theard lately. I don't mind adopting you unless you want a Lucid God like Truthbearer, Since he also shows concern about your Lucid Techniques.

As much as I'd rather be the one having a lucid dream, I gotta congratulate you, anyways, Zapheera!

It was exciting, wasn't it? I haven't had any high lucidities yet, but I just know there's something special about'em that has to be experience as opposed to merely talked about.

Oh......I thought that even after you thought you were lucid you weren't completely sure, and that was why you didn't want to offend your sister...

I never said that pinching yourself was a bad method, I just thought you said it didn't make you completely sure that you were lucid so I recommeded you use something else to give you complete certainty. Anyway, it was in my best interest that I made the suggestion, obviously not to hinder your ability to become lucid....

By the way, Shadow, I sense some hostility against me in your comments, what is that about? I don't think that I have ever done anything to merit comments of that sort towards me, but then again I could be wrong....
