This is an extremely exciting time for me. I had a Lucid Dream, and I didn't even try that hard. In this lucid dream, I became aware by doing a reality test on text, and it worked! Everything suddenly became a lot clearer...after paying attention to them.
Oh, my goodness. It's so exciting! Ok, if you'd like to know what happened in my dream, read on...
I was at my house. In a habitual motion and manner, I was jumping from my backyard to the roof of my house with my backpack on, ready to do some traveling by web-slinging. (I'm a real Spidey fan) However, my backpack was too heavy, and so I got ready to unload it in the house. I shot my web on the side of the house's wall to get in faster. At this point, I suddenly thought "This is unusual. I can shoot web? It's cool, but weird..." This suspicion aids in my lucid awareness.
Not too long after, I was in the same backyard, lying down on my porch next to Chris, my neighbor. For no distinguishable reason, I did a reality test on this paper I didn't even know come from. (I don't remember seeing a dreamsign before reality testing, but I guess the MILD's finally paid off!) However, this is weird, the first text check didn't work! The words remained the same. But something inside of me, some force urged me to try testing again, but to "will" the words to change this time. I did it on a very small scale. I looked at "hah" once, and looked again, trying to change it..and I did not see "hah" this time, but "aha!" Then my brain clicked. Everything became more vivid. I looked at my friend's face, and it looked just as every bit as real as in waking life. I told him I was dreaming, and he didn't believe me at first. I then proved it with the reality check. I then told him that I'll teach him later, probably when in waking life.
At this point, I went into my house. Everything looked like it was in waking life...I almost got to the point that I was convinced that I'm not dreaming anymore, but awake, rather! (this happen to anyone else? It's a partially frightening experience) I tried to wake up on my own will in order to prove that I was lucid dreaming, but couldn't. But finally, I naturally woke up, remembering the dream instantly. It's a very warped experience, to be in a dream and aware, but feeling like it may be real instead...
I used to be a very frustrated LD'er, and you newbies still can do it anytime starting from now, really! Actually, this time, I did not try as hard as usual. I gave it some slack. Also, I began meditating more the day before I had it, as well as extra autosuggestion. It seems like the work does pay off!
