I had my first lucid dream two days ago, and I'm really frustrated. I tried posting after I woke up but the forums were down. Then I almost had another lucid dream and I tried posting again but they were still down. But thats not why I'm frustrated.
Ok anyway. So I was watching this movie (this is real life btw) and it took till midnight. I usually dont stay up that late so I was real tootin' hootin' tired. When my alarm clock woke me up I was so tired that I just fell right back to sleep. I had a lot of dreams before I woke up the first time, and I'm surprised I remember them all since I was awake for such a short time. But I won't bother you with the details of those dreams. The frustrating part happened when I fell back asleep.
Alright, so I'm in New York City heading for a party (this is in the dream). I park my car and I enter the building. Well all my friends from real life are there, and I won't bother you with the details of the party (though it was pretty awesome). As I'm leaving, I hear someone singing "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac (awesome song btw) and he was all off-key. So I sang like I never sang before; I sang the song beautifully. You may be asking "so your frustrated because you know you can never sing like that in real life?" No and please stop rudely interrupting me for stupid questions.
So anyway I sang the song and left on a high note. I always make fantastic exits. Anyway so I go to find my car, but I can't find it. I'm searching around and its not there. And before you ask, no, thats not the frustrating part. Now, I gave up trying to have a lucid dream a few weeks before, so I am very surprised this happened, but I suddenly say to myself "am I dreaming?" (I used to do reality checks every time something weird happened in real life). Well, so I pinch my nose and try to breath in. A chill runs down my spine. I'm dreaming.
"So," you might be saying right now, "you're frustrated because you had a lucid dream?" No I'm actually pretty happy this happened. But the frustrating part is yet to come.
Well so immediately the streets of New York become black. It happened too quickly for me to spin or look at my palms or anything. And then I had a false awakening.
AND BEFORE YOU ASK, NO!!
So anyway I was now in my room, and I could see very little. I knew I was still dreaming. I was trying to focus on my palms. I didn't want to spin because I had the strange sensation that if I got up, I'd wake up. If this happened again I'd probably just spin anyway, but during the dream I wasnt really thinking like I normally do. So I was just concentrating on my palms, trying to bring the world into view. It wasnt really working.
Suddenly my dad woke me up.
Yes, its the frustrating part!
He woke me up at like five o'clock for no reason at all. I was SO angry. So I scolded him for a bit and then we went out and he had this huge machine and we used it to fire newspapers at the houses in the neighborhood, cause apparently I was a paperboy.
Then I woke up.
Another false awakening. My dad didn't really wake me up. I guess I was really stupid in the dream because I thought I had woken up for real and didn't bother to do a reality check. I can't believe that I was so angry in the dream for having been woken up by my father and I didn't even realize I was still dreaming.
So anyway I go to these forums but they were down. Then that night I went to sleep really late again. When my alarm clock woke me up I went back to sleep.
Well, I had this really long dream. It started off in school, and my Spanish teacher had turned evil and made us just sit there. Then when school was over I went to the place where the buses are. me and my friends missed the bus so my dad drove us. I'm not really sure what happened but I somehow found myself out of my dad's car and chasing the bus. I lost the bus, so now I was just wandering around
I was lost. But here something interesting happened. In this dream, I remembered a dream I had a year or so ago, where I was also lost. In that dream I was wandering around and found this street. From this street I was able to find my way home. I dont quite remember how now. But in the dream I was having now, I said "well in that dream I found a street that helped me find my way home." So I turned the corner and I found the street. It didn't quite look like the street I had seen before but in this dream I accepted it. So I said "Well, is the name of the street the same? I hope it doesn't change" (I seem to have been aware this was a dream because I was wary of things changing, yet I never became lucid. More on this later).
So the name of the street was Hillwood. In my dream I said "yes thats the one" though now that I think about it, in the original dream, the street didn't have a name. But again, in my dream, I just accepted it. I was thinking about dreams, but I was still in the dream state; as in, I wasn't conscious. I never did a reality check or anything.
So I said in the dream "well there was a man on this street in that other dream I had. Is he here?" So I looked and there he was. (In the original dream there actually wasn't a man. Another disparity! So I said "Is this the same man?" In my dream at first I said no, but then convinced myself it was.
So I never was lucid, and was thinking like I always think in a dream. But I think I came pretty close.
Anyway, here I just forgot about dreaming altogether, and I started making my way home. The whole dream was like an epic quest. I won't bother you with the details here, since it took like ten pages in my dream journal, and this post is long enough already.
In fact, now that I am rereading what I've written, I've realized that I wrote WAY too much. I really should get a life. Or a hobby. I know! I'll take up checkers! I'll be a world checkers champion!!!
