Help me learn the powers of Superman!

Hey all, I love lucid dreaming, although I only do it once a week, normally at the weekend when I get loads of sleep. I NEED HELP though! In my waking life, I really love Superman/Smallville and all the ideas based on it. In my lucid dreams, I am always trying to become Superman and can easily fly, (recently to the edge of space!). I have all sorts of powers, X Ray vision, walking through walls, super strength. Hhowever I still do not have super speed. I have even tried looking for people in my dreams that can tell me how to run super speed, but no-one knows! I practice but just cant do it!! Does anyone know how I can do it? Strange question but if anyone has an idea, let me know! If anyone wants help with the other powers, let me know. I had to learn them all.

      Hey, Welcome on board!

I all boils down to the following two things:

      1) You must have sufficient desire
      2) You must believe it is possible.

Only these two things are required.

It sounds like you have sufficient desire and are willing to work on it.
It sound like you believe it is possible, since you have already developed other super powers.

It is only a matter of time before you succeed
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

You know what you can try? Instead of trying to move at super speed try and make stuff around you go in slow motion.

      I will get there

I thought about making the surroundings go in slow motion, I'll give that a go, only I thought of this as slowing down time, rather than moving at super speed. God I sound like a freak now I know I can do it - its all in my mind, just a matter of figuring out how. Cheers and happy dreaming

Maybe you could work your way up to a faster speed gradually if you can rediley fly now. Like Seekersaid it comes down to beliveing it. It is just a mental block in your head for the moment. I will use this line again from somwhere in this forum, so whoever said it I cannot give them credit. anyway I thought it was cool (YOU WARE THE PANTS IN YOUR DREAMS)

By the way bassaddict welcome ?= bass as in guitar or a fish

      Bass as in deep bass!
Thanks for welcoming me on board! When I first started to fly, I had to paddle like I was under water and I always used to fall back to earth and could never get very high. Then I just concentrated a bit more and now i just glide and can really go quite fast when flying, especially vertically. Sometimes, but not often I fall back to earth, from great heights - never hurts i just get back up and fly again! I am not looking forward to the day I meet someone holding a chunk of Kryptonite

I too can only fly for small durations. It is more like gigantic leaps.
Anyway good luck. Hpoe you stick around the forum. We could use some SUPER HEROES

Oh I just got another idea. Maybe you can try flying across the ground really fast to get used to it, then try it while running.

I once flew on a super speed fighter jet in my LD. Even tho it felt like super speed, it wasnt...
I guess it was about 80 mph and it may be exaggerated.... Yet it felt like mach 4

Even tho speed really wasnt too high, what made it look so fast was constant feeling of acceleration...

Acceleration without actually increasing speed is only possible in a dream... and it feels great...

You may want to try it....

Hmm you should try using a different technique to run fast. In my first lucid dream, I tried to jump high, but could only go about 20 feet max. I was jumping using both feet (like you do in vertical tests). Anyway, in my next LD I tried doing the same thing, and got the same results. However, one of my goals was to learn how to jump high so I kept trying. I then figured out that if I jumped like a ninja I could clear like five city blocks. Maybe try doing a hand signal or something, or try summoning a pair of super fast shoes ala Sonic. Hope this helped.

You say you've watched Smallville right? Well in Smallville they often show his super speed as being slow motion. This is most likely what super speed would be like anyways. For example the whole "The faster you go the slower time around you goes, when you reach the speed of light time will stop, and if you could go faster than the speed of light time would go backwards but you would become energy" thing (E=MC2.) Besides it would be tough to control any of you're articulate movements if they seemed as fast to you as they did to everyone else.

      Interesting idea for an LD!

I myself have walked through walls without problems.
I'll try x-ray vision next time (besides going thru a mirror which is something I still have to try).
