Hi i have had my first real lucid dream (i had a short one few weeks ago) after finding this forum. when i was young i used to have tons of lucid dreams but i only became interested after reading someone elses dream and i wanted to find out how i can properly induce them

Anyway last night i tried the WBTB technique i set my alarm for 4:00 but woke up at 3:30 i turned off the alarm and went to the bathroom i sat up in my bed thinking about wat im going do when im dreaming an hour later i got a slice of cheese and went to bed. i didn't get to sleep till 5 when i did get to sleep i had 3 lucid dreams the first i tried to move my hands but i was paralised to i wanted till i was properly dreaming when i was i got out of bed and tried to spin but it didn't work and i fell back on the couch i tried to make a person appear all i got was a fuzzy image then woke up went to sleep few seconds later i was in the street and did a RC then i told myself i will make my dream last longer and i tried spinning again but much faster and it worked i was at my school and i could easily create people the problem was i didn't have much control of wat was happening around i woke up and then fell back aseep i realised i was in a shop did a RC after that i lost control and it was becoming a normal dream i was in a park with my friends then i woke up an hour later at 6 but the time of the dream seemed to last for 2 hours or so

but does anyone know how to get more control over the dreams

Plain and simple, control comes from two things: confidence and desire. You really have to know what you want to do before you try something and it really helps if you have an idea of how to accomplish that. I would recommend making a list of what you want to do and decide what you want to do before you fall asleep. Also decide how you're going to do it.

Then, when you become lucid, you won't have to spend a lot of time thinking about what to do. Just go ahead and stick with what you've decided and go for it! You won't fail and you need to remember that.

If you need any suggestions on how you might go about doing something, feel free to ask

As you start LDing more, you will gain more clarity and control. With experience, you will get better as with any skill. Confidence and straight desire is also essential, as Ame has noted.....But as you gain experience, the confidence and desire will build even more, so while you need a substantial amount to get anywhere with dreaming, you will gain even more by experiencing the dreams. Even so called 'failed' dreams will give you so much, in the way of wisdom.
