Not sure if this was lucid or not...

Well I'm new here, but I have been practicing the methods of dream recall for a couple of weeks now. But one day, last friday, I had a very strange and vivid dream. I haven't yet tried to start getting lucid in the complete sense, but I can say that this experience happened when I woke up about 6:30 to get ready for school (I had slept until like 12:30 the night before, so I was pretty tired.), but I fell back to sleep (oops...). After this a whole bunch of crazy things happened (in the dream).

It started at this camp-like place, except it was really a facist/nazi like place and they were treating everyone like criminals...except all the criminals were sexy women, and I was the only guy there.

Well you can geuss what happened to me...anyway, after the 'experience'
I woke up, and realized that I was actually partially aware that the event never really took place. (I woke up because after what happened I started feeling like I could do anything, but I chanted LEFT! RIGHT! instead of just 'doing' the actions) Instead of writing this down, I wanted more, so I fell back to sleep (this dream to place in three parts) and I saw an mp3 player (you know the hard-drive ones), so I picked it up and examined the screen. It looked how you would expect (I geuss my mind improvised and replace the screen with one similiar to the small one I have), and I went along with it, though I was pretty excited. I turn around again, and *poof* another one. Now I'm sort of getting greedy, and sort of realizing that in real life I would not really dish out 300-500 dollars on one these things (dream sign? who knows...). I turn around a third time and then a lap-top is there. I try to make out the screen, and it looks like your regular xp desktop (green hills and all). I turn around a final time, wanting more things, but...

This black guy was here now when I turned around again (he sort of looked like the black guy from Equilibrium with his clothes and all, if you've ever saw it. ) So he started feeding me all this crap about how I was "sensitive" and "aware" and the "chosen one", pfft... the Morphius wannabe. He also said how I should not abuse my "powers." Well after that I saw some other guy getting disintergrated for having the same "powers" as me. I got a little nervous because this guy could have been abusing them. During this conversation (if you can call it that, he kept talking) I realized that these "powers" are actually part of the dream! I knew now that the powers were just my imagination, and that this was a dream. Now I think "Wow. Let me ditch this loser

" I leave and enter a living room similiar to my own. The funny thing is there is an Xbox 2, PS3, and the next Nintendo system all to myself. This re-affirms my beliefs that I am dreaming, so I play the xbox. After that, much of it is a blur.

My questions are, was this really lucid, or just a 'moment'?

Any clues for my dreamsigns here? I am thinking technology, because a lot of my dreams have to do with getting the latest laptop, graphics card, etc.

Is there any way that my extra 2-3 hours of sleep affect the dream? I think there is because I was 80 percent aware I was dreaming.

Side note: I sort of felt my body in the dream, but like, only when I was shouting commands like LEFT! and RIGHT!

First of all:

Welcome to the forums!

To answer your question, you seemed like you were lucid to me. Simply because you recognized the fact that you were dreaming. It’s ok even if it is just a flash or a moment of recognition, that’s still lucid. All you need now is more practice, your control and length of awareness will only increase from now on. Good luck.

Hey by the way. Did you know that we have a Soviet Union national flag as a choice too? Thought you’d pick that one.

Hey, some people are just natural lucid dreamers and learn really fast. You seem like one of those people to me. For others it could take longer. But eventually everyone can do it.

Thank you both for your replies! I think I will try to look for more tech things in my dreams from now on. They're usually 'real', or things I see in Pc Mags and stuff, or sci-fi-like. I'm a very creative person, and usually I'll add a little real science to my ideas (particle accelerators and giant super-conductors for example, also appear sometimes in my dreams), and after a while the things you draw on paper seem to get in my dreams themselves. It's really fascinating stuff, seeing a 2D drawing come together in your head, full 3D, color and all.

*Interesting...I geuss more people are into the "red" thing now that you don't get shot for it

Hehe you're like me, whenever I see money or something expensive on the ground in a dream I always pick it up as fast as I can. Once I jumped into a bunch of gross sewer water just to grab a hundred dollar bill!
