This morning I had my second naturally occurring brush with the WILD experience. I didn't manage to enter a lucid dream however, because immediately after calming down and allowing myself to progress pass the transitional stage I dreamt that somebody knocked on my door and woke me up, and I must have at the very least fallen asleep in between, because I completely believed it when my friend spontaneously showed up in my bedroom at 10am. I even jokingly scolded him for interrupting my potential WILD. However, even after my previous similar experience with a "natural" WILD, I wondered if I'd really accomplished what I thought I had.

The reason I question myself is this: A few years ago, while reading about and practicing with astral projection techniques (with zero success) I dreamt that I entered the transitional stage of this process and catapulted myself out of my body, subsequently deciding that it was a dream (not a total loss, I got a lucid dream out of it). The sensation of sleep paralysis was quite believable, and the only thing that assured me it had been completely a dream was that it took place in a different location than where I was actually asleep at the time. Now, while my two recent experiences have been more striking in the paralysis sensation (vibrating, old hag sensation, etc.) and they seemed to occur right from where I was actually sleeping, I still wonder, were they just dreams about having a WILD because of the extensive reading i've done on the subject lately, or (hopefully) my developing attuned-ness to the sensations and mechanics of sleep paralysis that allow me to do this? Because they've both happened in between short awakenings either in the morning or during a nap, the preparation and time before the experience is mostly nonexistant, which furthers my questioning of this experience. Has anybody else had similar WILD experiences to mine, "naturally" induced during short awakenings? "Simulated" WILDs during dreams? Is there somebody who's done both fake dream WILDs and definitely genuine ones who can ascribe specific differences to the two experiences? I'm 70% sure they were indeed genuine WILDs and not simply DILDs that emulate a WILD, but I do have my doubts.
