Out of nowhere, so close! A sound enduced lucid dream....

I took a nap today, and I even thought to myself before I fell asleep, "a lucid dream would be cool" but i didn't seriously consider it, because my next door neighbor had his music on, the bass high enough for me to hear it pretty well, and I was too lazy to turn MY music off, so it was on "random" choosing things from Harry Potter to The Ataris. And it was sorta loud, loud enough to not be able to drown it out...

Well, in the middle of my dream, where I was floating down a river of chocolate (I love you, Willie Wonka), I heard my cell phone go off, and i "woke up".

For some reason, my cell phone was very quiet, even though I knew it was on loud and vibrate. I looked on the shelf above my headboard, and I couldn't find where I left it. I was so sleepy, i said "screw it," and turned over to go to sleep again. I glanced at the window, which was MUCH closer to my bed than I remember it being. The sun was setting brilliantly, and I looked upwards. The extrordinary reds turned into purples, and then to deep blues as I looked higher, and then right below the top of the window, I saw a patch of stars. There were thousands of them, in only that small area! It was like the sky had a huge hole in it, and I could see more stars than I ever saw before. I remembered to myself that downtown Cincinnati is too polluted to be able to see stars like that, and realized that I was dreaming. Everything froze, and began to turn dark immediately. I said "remain lucid!" but instead of moving again, my view turned into several TV sets. I could hear the thumping bass of next door, and then my music became louder, and I knew I was waking up.

It came out of nowhere, and it's been a while since I've had anythign close to a lucid dream.

Anyway, I checked out my cell phone, and, indeed, it did ring during my nap. Which means I have experienced a Sound Induced Lucid Dream. SILD is mine!

Hey thats wonderful Ashliebelle, I like the version of the patch of stars. Ive wittness an abundance of stars within a lucid dream once before also. And they always seem to look more vibrant in the dream than in reality. Maybe you should set your alarm on your phone for about 90 minutes after you go to sleep, and maybe it would trigger lucidity again. Its a wonderful dream and I hope you are successful with future lucid adventures. Also why didn't you just try the spinning technique instead of yelling to remain lucid?

Ashliebelle that is a great lucid dreaming experience. I bet you were pretty torn when you woke up so early. Shadow is right try utilizing your phone again to see if you may perhaps get the same results. I wish you luck.

      Those stars do sound nice.

That was really close though. Congrats. I remember during many of my experiences that I'd immediately wake up after realizing I'm dreaming and then kicking myself in real life.

alright, im salivating...but i don't want to be rude or anything, but this could mean that you are...sexually deprived...or you just 'want some'...sorry of you took that offensively, but its what it means...

Let me explain in further detail...there is an organ in the brain of WOMEN that responds the same to sexual pleasure as to the chemicals chocolate produces. The same inner satisfaction, in the head is given off...its a short term substitute. Now, i suppose your SUBCONCIOUS mind is sexually deprived perhaps. I don't really know you or anything, and this is just a hypothosis...

      But anyway...contrats!
