      Dreamlaws?

Ok, first of all, usually in dream there are certain "laws" or rules..like you cant read the same text to much..the clock flipps, light switch failure..that kinda stuff..now I had this confusing dream.

I just woke up from a LD..I checked me alarm clock, it was 8:05. I checked again to make sure I didnt have a FA(I do all the time) , and it was still 8:05. I always do a triple check to make sure because you never know with me and it was still 8:05. So I pretty much was like im not dreaming..

But then after a few mins I figure, I had this feeling like..hmm Im dreaming(this si the way I always get lucid, by just feeling it, its a weird kidna feeling..) then I checked my clock and it was 11:15. I figured I either fell asleep, or did WILD without even noticing it..but then I checked the clock and it was all blurry, but I knew I was dreaming already anyway..I got up out of bed...

Then the clock was 11:15 again, i double, triple, quatriple checked it. It kept being 11:15. So I was a little confused, so I tried the light switch, and it worked. More confusion, but, I was sure Im dreaming because my old desk was back in my room, and I removed it a while ago. And there where 3 golden candles burning..

Then I got a book, and read trough it. I could just read it, look away, and look again, read anothe rpage, go back to the previous page..all the same. Normally I can read fairly good, but this was really like asif I was in the pshysical world. I checked the clock and it was 11:17. Then I triple checked it and it was still 11:17. So I was really confused..lightswitches still worked..and the desk+candles proved to me I was dreaming..then I opened my curtains, and put it to the test by jumping out of the window. I floated down, and went to check a cars lisence plate. It could just triple check like with the book. I flew back up in my room, nothing changed. I wrote down some crazy stuff I could never remember. Like Mr Pootchy went to the shop and bought.. *big ass list of stupid stuff* , and I checked , and it was still the friggin same! The light still worked and the clock was 11:22..and triple check, and yes it didnt change.

I was really confused, so I decided to sit on the ground in half lotus and close my eyes and focus on waking up..and so I did..it was 8:32! (I was really awake this time)

      Anybody ever had this??

I have before, but not to the degree you experienced. It seems that sometimes, our minds will do everything possible to convince us we are not lucid.

      Cool experience though, hey?

Interesting, most of my dtreams are more medievil and so clocks and light switches aren't a problem, but thats still kinda cool

Yeah, it justs sounds like your mind has gotten used to lucid dreaming and reality checks and so it know what you expect to convice you are not dreaming. Dreams can be so cruel, once you think you figured them out, they go do something wierd like that.

FA's r so real 4 me, they have been 100x more vivid than any of my dreams. all my senses work perfectly as do devices, this state of ultimate realism lasts a couple of minutes until the previous nightmare as it usually is works its way into the FA and i realise im dreaming even though i didnt in the previous dream/nightmare.

I thought my false awakenings were confusing...

But the feeling you described, when you know you are dreaming, thats how my lucid dreams have been induced...i barely ever have mechanical failure, or dream sign recognition

Lucius your experience completely fascinates me...I've always thought that the book and clock tests were reliable...if they aren't, and a dream is exactly like reality, (i.e. you're unable to fly, everything appears normal as in your waking life) then how are you to know it's a dream?

It is fasinating. Doesn't it make you wonder if your brain does not want you to Lucid dream?
Or it could be the harder you work for somthing the better thr reward!

I frequently have these lucid dreams that I cannot convince myself that I am dreaming. I could be having a dream that I become aware that I am dreaming. But I then second guess myself.

The way I always get lucid by this feeling..like "Hmm I am dreaming" I just *feel* it in some way, thats how I always get lucid, unless I did WILD of course, but there are always Questions like:

How did I get here, what day is it today, it is really this time, what have I been doing today, why am I here, etc, they never fail either if you really dont know, unless you are REALLY confused. : P

Im able to read in most of my dreams, I gues I never actually even figured that alot of people have trouble reading stuff, and I dont see many clocks and I usually dont double check, but I did here I gues

Your concious mind must have been as active during that dream as if you were really awake! Your excellent short term memory in that dream sounds awesome. You could probably have a really good realistic yet lucid dream.

      That sounds mental!

(note: I am unsure if that word is used with that meaning outside of "darkest scotland"! I mean it as "cool".)

I have the same problem, most reality checks dont work, though I am kinda dumb i guess, as I check and recheck and everything seems right.. but I can fly.. and I think in my head... "well its a bout damned time"

There are no rules to dreams. Every person is an individual, which means that every person's dream signs are different. Device failure and text changing are only common signs, not rules.
