At 9:00 I went to bed. At 4:00am I woke up, wrote in my dream journal, and went back to sleep.

In my dream I was in my bed. I did a reality check in case this was a dream. I plugged my nose, and to my surprise I could breathe through it. I got really excited, and told myself that I must be dreaming.

I spun around and tried to appear on the building of a rooftop, but it didn't work. I got a little discouraged. I tried to make a gun appear in my hand, but it failed as well. Then I lost lucidity.

Here's the thing: For the rest of the dream I had my nose plugged with my right hand. I went around showing people how I could breathe through my nose. People thought I was odd

      Questions:

      1. What kind of LD, althought it was short, did I have?
      2. What went wrong with my Reality Check?
      3. Why couldn't I disappear and make things appear?
      4. Why, oh why did I keep on holding my nose plugged throughout the rest of the dream?

You (like me) are still near the beginning of your lucid control. It's perfectly natural when you realise you're dreaming to think 'There's so much stuff I want to do, let's fly...or teleport...or have a fight with some ninjas' but nothing happens because you aren't really ready for it. You still need to train yourself and try to use simpler methods to your goal.
For example, you wanted to make a gun appear in your hand. An easier way is to think of a place where there would be a gun (say in a draw near you, or simply behind you) and as long as you believe it to be there, it will be there.
Similarly, for getting to the roof, you could try running out the room, and look for a ladder, expecting it to be there.

Try some simple stuff first, and then gradually try more adventurous things

Oh, and for number 4, it's probably just because you were thinking about that RC, seeing as you had just done it. Because the dream hadn't really resolved a plotline yet (you'd only just woken up) the dream simply formed itself around the RC.
We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true. - Woodrow Wilson

Thanks! Its my third LD. WOuld that be a dream induced lucid dream then (DILD)?

My most successful was when I built this town using my hands. I realised I was dreaming when I was scared and saw these mountains rising around me. Then I made them go away and started building a town.

Another one I was lucid instantly and went around telling this girl she was dreaming. I tried to proove it to her by flying, and I tried to fly by jumping with my hand up in the air

As you can see, I am not good at this yet!

Yep, sounds like a DILD to me.

The town-building dream seems quite high-level.
I managed to complete the advanced task a few months ago, but haven't gotten close since then

Good advice! Last night I had another Lucid Dream last night! I woke up in a strange bed, and did a reality check. I concluded I was dreaming, and tried your technique (openeing a door) it worked, but then I lost lucidity. eventually I went to the beach I had wanted to go to, but I wasn't lucid any more.
