Lucid Dream Limbo

Something weird happened tonight. I realized that I was dreaming (nose rc), but...I couldn't see anything. It was all black and I couldn't conjure anything. It was like I was in between two dreams or something. I couldn't see myself, but I could feel my own body... I tried to say "Lucidity!" but I can't remember if I said it in the dream or in real life as I was waking up. HMM.

I've been in that state myself once. Its what people call the void. Its like a dream with nothing in it. All I saw while in it was total blackness except for a point of light and I was able to twirl around like I was swimming underwater. I woke up a few seconds after entering it. Use the search feature on the forum and search for "void" or "the void" to find other threads about it.

That kinda thing happened to me a little while ago; except that I saw uber cool patterns instead of black, but I was still bodyless and waking up.

Hmm, I think something like that has happened to me at least a few times. I guess the next time it happens to you, you could try rubbing your hands or something? *shrugs*

The reason I'm asking is because that's what I saw when I used to trip. The effect has carried over into a few of my dreams since then. The patterns always seem to have something written on them but I can never read it. I have, on one occasion, transformed the patterns into shapes around me. ( tunnels, boxes, spheres, always ver geometric for some reason) The Void sounds like it would be an interesting goal to set. Floating in nothingness has to be pretty calming.

hi...that's happened to me exactly last night"it happened before"....anyway I had Ld then when it finished I could feel my body, and everything was black I opened my eyes"for second" and found myself in reall life so I quickly closed them........ well so I stood up and run "I felt it" then I heard voice said ""2.2 dream!!???" I don't know what does it mean?.. but then I found my self in another dream and it was Ld as well

so strange. forgot to include it in my other post, but after reading this thread yesterday, the same thing happened to me last night. i became lucid and i was just stuck in blackness. didn't really take the time to appreciate because i kept trying to spin and go somewhere more interesting. i wonder if reading the thread had anything to do with the experience

I had a similar experience , I just called it the void. But when I saw you post limbo, I sought interest to see if it was a similar experience to mine. During my void or limbo I saw just brown, nothing else. Hypnopompic hallucinations may be the factor here. I think you term limbo is very good. It seems to me that our mind is caught in just that, limbo. A stage between consciousness and a sleep state. Much like SP, but visual or possibly auditory instead. In both cases you are mentally involved but paralyzed in one form or another. I swear I logged this somewhere on the Forum...I can't find it.
