I guess a bit of backstory would help. Christmas night I received a real nice present in the form of the longest and best lucid dream I've ever had. For some reason I decided to do a reality check (which is interesting considering I had largely gave up trying to LD) and plugged my nose and tried to breathe. Remarkably, I could! (Even more amazing is that I did that check...I've only glanced at it before, not sure how I recalled it.)

Anyway, for the next few days I attempted to LD with no luck which was very disappointing. But last night, I woke up around 4 am (which is usual for me, I can never sleep all the way through a night) and was sad to realize no LDs had occurred yet, but was hopeful since I still had six hours to try (I'm lazy and sleep forever). I was too tired to stay up for an hour, so I just went back to bed.

I wake up in a dream. I'm at my house in school and there's someone at my window and my first thought is "Holy crap, I'm dreaming" but then I realize it's REAL but it's a girl asking to be let in for the bathroom. So I disregard it being a dream. I let her in and show her the bathroom, only the bathroom is actually a bedroom for someone I don't know...which doesn't set me off until about two minutes later when I actually see the guy and do the nose plug check again. Yep, I can breathe.

So I run outside hoping to do something (I remember reading someone smashed a wall with there fist, but I didn't wanna excite myself too much, so I didn't do that ). Before I got to some lady to talk to, I felt that all too familiar feeling of drifting away and then I'm awake. Crap.

But of course I go back to bed. I wake up in my house at school again. I instantly realize it's a dream, do a nose plug check, and go to my neighbours house. My sister comes out saying some guys are towing our house away (which they were, but I disregard it...it's a damn dream, ) and tell her to go back in. I get into my neighbors house and actually manage to say some things, but she asks me to go pick up a comb (which I do...for some reason) and I feel the dream fade. So I wake up.

This is where the WILD comes in, and it's my first one. I'm trying to fall asleep again when I start seeing images (who knows what) with my eyes closed. Then I feel a tingling/vibrating feeling in my whole body and I hear this loud sound. It kind of sounded like an MRI machine (at least that MRI machine on that show House). Then I felt like my whole body turned over (I was on my stomach) and lifted into the air which was a weird sensation. Oh yeah, my body was paralyzed which was kind of interesting having absolutely zero control on any body part except my eyelids.

Ultimately, I was too afraid to allow the WILD to go through it's course (I think I'd do it fully if it happened again, but it's not like I was hoping it would happen that time, it really snuck up on me). In any case, all ended well because, YES, another lucid dream! Same results, very quickly I woke up, but it was a fun night.

I got some advice to thsoe who are trying to WILD and are scared of it though. Do what I did. That WILD, and this is no joke, tried to take control of me while all I wanted to do was fall asleep. I just kind of let myself get used to each stage of it (paralyzation, that loud sound, tingling, etc) before I let the WILD carry me further. I would imagine it's a nice way to relax yourself into it. Even though I didn't go all the way, I'm sure I could ride it out now that it can't scare the crap out of me.
