Thread: Wednesday 3rd January - "puppet Master" ( A Failed Experiment )

Hi readers,

I'm new to the forum and I thought now would be a good time to share my experiences whilst in my last lucid dream.

First of all, the dream was sort of a traveling dream as my dreams usually are. I found myself on a long adventure which led me to one of my good freinds ex-girlfriends house.

When I got to the house the door was locked and I wanted to get in when I suddenly realised " Hey wait a minute, what am I doing at this girls house and how exactly did I get here...I dont think her house even looks exactly like this?" at this point I realised I was dreaming and became lucid.

So I decided to walk through the wall of her house and go inside to see what characters or interesting things might be in there.

I encountered a number of characters but I was only really interested in trying one thing whilst lucid:
I wanted to try being the puppet master of one of my characters.

When I tried to make the character move or make it say certain things or basically controll it at all I found that it just was not working. The character had its own agenda and wouldnt do anything I was trying to make it do.

Shortly after this, not yet knowing of the spinning technique, I began to lose lucidity untill I lapsed back into my normal seemingly non-sensicle dream storyline.

I was wondering, can anyone out their controll their characters? Or was my failure (although I view even gaining lucidity as a sucsess in my book) a result of my fading lucidity? Should I put this failed experiment down to a lack of experience?

What are your thoughts? What have been your experiences what this experiment? Is what im talking about possible?

Yes I have controlled multiple DCs at once. The trick for me was not to force it, I started by trying to force them like you probably did and then moved on to imagining what I want them to do. Now I can control them completely if I choose to, with time I think you will be able to as well, then you probably won't want to. Another cool experiment for you to try is stepping into a DC and becoming them.

You are right, I was definately trying to force the character rather than imagine.

I can also see what you're saying about not wanting to control your DC's after time, but I cant relate just yet.

Becoming one of my characters? Sounds like a fun idea.

Next time I'll remember to try both those things.

That's cool,h0ju.I've had partial success controlling DCs but never even tried to step into one.Does your perspective or control alter much?Has there ever been a time when you were unable to 'become' a DC that you would have liked to for any reason?I'm going to give it a crack,any feedback or pointers would be appreciated.Cheers.

I haven't noticed a mental change when entering a DC but the physical change is there. I can't quite describe what it feels like to lose one's penis for a vagina but it's worth trying since it comes back whenever you like .

Yes I have failed on more than one occasion and I'd have to chalk the failures up with lack of expectation or low lucidity. EXPECTATION is a huge factor in most LD experiments, if you think you will fail you probably will. Sometimes failure is just the way it goes without any reason I can think of....
