My Dream Sounds Like...

Lately in my lucid dreams i´ve been concentrating on just relaxing and becoming more aware of my dream environment. To do this i have been concentrating less on what i see but trying to take note on what i smell and especially what i hear. Last night i had a LD. I was like a small person in a front garden at night. Someone had made dinner for me but i was mentally challanged and so they talked about me in third person and had to help me to eat. I was lucid this whole time, just playing along with the dream scenario and trying to take note of what i could hear and smell. I could smell the food, rice and tomato with sausages. The surprising thing is what i could hear which was very loud traffic. There was no traffic in my dream and i thought that maybe it was coming from the waking world but im living in a very small town in finland at the moment, and it is very quiet here. Its interesting that my sense of hearing and seeing were not in sinc together... If anyone would like to join me in the study of sounds and noises in dreams then please feel free because its great to discuss this with others

I've become interested in sound in dreams due to my last lucid. Not only could I clearly hear piano music, I could feel it around and inside me... I swear I could almost taste it on my tongue. This has made me wonder if it is possible to experience music with all my senses in a LD. In my case, I'd like to sample different types of music and experience them with all my senses to see if each genre is possesive of it's own touch, taste, sound, look or scent.

Thats awesome! And it would make sense that you could sense sound with all senses within a dream as its a dream body not our body. What are senses to our dream bodies anyway, how do we even tell the difference?? My friend told me of his dream last night, it wasn´t lucid, but it interested me nonetheless. He said it was an increadibly vivid dream, with very clear detail. He could hear very loud crashing noises and asked his friend, a DC in the dream where the noises were coming from. His friend said that it was the sound of meteorites crashing into planets. Its strange that there should be such an inconsistancy in the dream scene and these noises in the examples so far. Also weird that my friend should tell me about a dream like this when i had just posted about this topic! Haha!

yo this dream is crazy to me i dont want to go off topic here but i think thats a cool dream. Its kind of bugged out. I tip my hat to you for just "going with the flow" of that crazy scenario! And the fact that you were hearing traffic makes it more interesting. is that the whole dream, or do you have it documented in more detail in a dream journal? I wanna check it out ive been thinking about this dream since you posted this, im not sure what intrigues me about it though.

Thanks BPolar. I do keep a dream journal but not online as i like to write in my diary as soon as i wake up. There was a lot of dream before that but it wasn´t lucid. I was walking to my sisters appartment, we were going to have some kind of family dinner at last. I was walking around all of these big appartment buildings and looked up into the sky. I noticed that there were two moons, like one moon and a reflection with a small piece cut out of it. As i looked at it, the moons changed appearance, its hard to describe without drawing a picture. But it was like a massive rectangular piece of glass was being moved in front of the images and the moons distorted around the edges where the glass hit. This was a big enough cue for me to check my hands. Once lucid i flew casually over the footpath and the trees, it was some suburban street, very quiet, when i decided i wanted to play in a garden. So i found one, sliped through the glass wall in front and casually looked around the garden, i felt i was about the size of a knome. That´s when dinner was served on tables in the garden and the dream characters around me started talking about me. I payed attention to what i could hear and all i could pick up was the sound of heavy traffic. It was different to listening to the characters talk about me. Like i was hearing the two things with a different sense. I didn´t communicate with them because i was mentally challanged and one of the DC´s was appointed to take care of me, and he fed me food from his plate. Like i was some kind of weird alien. Thanks for the interest, my friends are sick of me talking about dreaming hahaha.

Anyways, about the sounds... In my first LD I was in my favorite spot in the bush (forest, whatever you want to call it) (I live in a very Rural area) and I was amazed by how realistic it was. Especially the sounds. I could hear every aspect of every sound, The wind blowing, the waves on the lake lapping against the shore, birds, high in the branches above me; but most of all I could hear my own body. My breathing was amplified and took on forms in the world around me, my heartbeat was the pulse that drove the world, in time with everything. (eg. birds, wind, leaves falling, ect.) To this day it reamains the most increadable experiance i've had. ....Sorry for ranting. lol EDIT: I am interested in studing sounds in dreams and lucid dreams. I'll join.

I often hear sounds like voices on a radio as I'm drifting to sleep into a dream. Once, I was half asleep and my husband got up to use the restroom, I thought, half delusional, he needs to see a man about a horse. then I heard his voice talking on the phone about buying a horse from someone and having it delivered.
