Thread: Randomized Lucidity

Ya, I called this randomized lucidity(DILD) cuz I got lucid w/o any reality check, it was weird. I'm being optimistic about this and considering that I may not need reality checks in the future as much, since they hardly represent themselves in my dream...but nonetheless, I still practice them, just in case.

So, I awoke lucidly in my dream, and I did several different fantasy-like things, like do something romantic with an old high school crush, and fly!! (which I practiced quite a bit) I was surprised how similar some people looked compared to real life. I was even able to conjure up people by willing them to come out around the corner of a building...

My dream almost faded a few times, and I remembered that focusing on a point would wake me up, so I resulted to my peripheral vision, taking everything in holisticly; then...everything stabled up. I was happy I overcame my newbie mistake of not staying calm. Staying calm sure is worth it...

When I do weird things in a lucid dream, I still feel self conscious about the dream characters watching me, like in real life, even though I assumed they were not real. My explanation is that I'm so used to the feeling in real life, I merely attached it to any biped that I might witness...anybody else feel this way? I think this kinda feeling may prevent or hinder full-fledged lucidity, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

this is the way i nearly always attain lucidity...you jus kinda do...neato, tho, eh?

Very cool! You should keep doing RC's, because its not only the dreamsigns that RC's practice, its also the awareness and your state of mind on checking if it might be a dream... because there's just something different when you dream.

That is the way I always become lucid as well...

Also, I understand what you mean when you are talking about your self consciousness and the reason you provided might just be the best explanation for it. I sometimes feel it too, but then, if I am aware enough, say "Screw that, it's not real" and do as I please(with moderation, of course )
