WARNING: This dream could be viewed as inappropriate.

I have been trying really hard to get a FILD and/or WILD for about a week now; it figures I would get a DILD. The funny thing is, I remember a lot about the dream itself before I became lucid (which probably means that I was not that lucid at all), but I'll skip to the juicy stuff . I was in my dorm room with my roommate, and a girl came in that I did not really get a good look at. She came straight to me and began making out - I forgot what she told me but I never saw her face and only felt her hand (it was being a bit aggressive if you know what I mean).

Knowing I was going to score, I took her to a bathroom like the upstairs bathroom of my house. She sat down in the bathtub and awaited me. This was the first time I got a good look at her - to my horror she was fat and ugly. I said to myself, "Wait, this must be a dream." She was like, "No, don't worry about that." I looked down at my hands as a reality check (It is the only consistent reality check I do throughout the day). It was AMAZING! looking at my hand. It wasn't that I was missing fingers; my hands looked like they were a brilliant fluorescent and slightly translucent blob of liquid. As I came to this conclusion, the scene immediately changed to a mansion/castle as I lost interest in the girl. I was in a large room with open space and stone floors. It also had a domed glass ceiling in a design I did not take the time to note (like the glass art you find in old and wealthy churches).

Anyways, I did not know what I wanted to do first... but flying popped into my mind and I leapt into the air; to my disappointment, I only leaped about a few feet into the air before I floated down. I then closed my eyes and visualized my self rapidly lifting off the ground and breaking through the glass above me. Even before I could open my eyes, I felt the rain on my face (you know it is always storming around those darn castles ). I flew around, but the scenes change. I started flying around in a video game I had never played (although it incorporated characters I am familiar with). I was in a harbor and everyone looked like a graphically awesome game / but still a game none the less (I think I need to stop playing Oblivion so much).

This did not last long before I had a "Fake Wake". I jumped out of my bed to write everything down, but my friend was standing in the room. He was sketching on the piece of paper I intended on writing my dream down on. I had previously written "Lucid Dreaming?" in the middle of the night when I was not sure (I would remember writing it down, and if it was not their when I woke up the next morning: I would have concluded I wrote it down in my dreams). Under this it said: "1 DILD Lucid Dream" twice (in two separate lines and one above the other). I told him I had a lucid dream, and he said, "Really! That is Awesome!" I was overjoyed that he believed me and excited to tell him my dream, but I woke up for real .

After calling one of my friends (also getting into learning lucidity) I came immediately to this computer to get my story down .

Congrats. How long did it take you to get your lucid dream? The hand reality check is the only one I do too, but lately I have stopped it. Maybe I should do it again in hopes of getting a lucid dream. I hope you have many more to come!

I got into lucid dreaming about two months ago; however, that only lasted about a few weeks as I did not find a great resourceful site and had to focus on papers/exams for school. I did however keep a strict dream journal for two weeks (1-3 dreams every night). A few days ago, I found this site and this forum and got really interested again (much more than before). I read old posts for hours - trying to get a good understanding on everything (reality checks to dream guides). When it comes down to it, I still felt kinda lucky that I got a lucid dream. I mean, the dream went of for a while with a lot of weird events before I got suspicious (Like a guy with a rifle was chasing me around a mall).

I suggest you keep doing the hand reality check. It is very easy, discrete, and apparently reliable. Lucidity is an exciting phenomenon that I am no closer to mastering than you; however, we just have to stay focused and tell ourselves that we have years and years to practice.

I am going to start keeping a dream journal again. Even though I did it for two weeks, I did notice my dreams became clearer and memorable if I jotted down some notes every time I wake up. I suggest you do the same if you are not already doing so .

Hey, congrats! Too bad about the missed opportunity with the false awakening though, eh? Maybe you should write, "Reality Check" on the front of your dream journal so you remember to do one every time you wake up.
