Thread: Kungfu Vs. Weapons

We all know that well being Lucid, nothing can compare to going totaly matrix or dbz. i wanna kno what ur guys (and gurls) opions are on what is better: Kung-fu fighting vs. fighting with weapons. and plz tell why...

I really hate Hand to hand combat in LDs because you never know what your opponent will do. Simply dont feel confident enough to hit my opponent with a bare fist...

That's why I'm focused on weapons. For small encounters I pull a Colt 1911 from my pocket. For more serious stuff I get a lightsaber or something "mighty"...

I've tried pyrokinesis once, basically concentrating enormous amount of heat at one small point, it worked nice, but took too long to charge it...

My weapon serves as a "focus" for my energy, it gives me more confidence and fortifies my belief.... Besides dream weapons look awesome

Totally kung-fu flying and telekineticly bending the physics around to suit me
Have used weapons few times but they are very unreliable and no fun.

kung-fu, or any martial style for that matter, is great in an LD because you get such a rush out of kicking someones ass beyond comprehension.

I never fought before in a lucid dream. Though I have made someone disappear before if that counts. For a normal dream though either is just as fun.

What I wonder though, is how many people while fighting, either got beat up or shot, or maybe even had a hand cut off or something? I assume most people win in their dreams but you never know, might get beat up before they do heh.

I voted for kung fu, but they are really close for me. There are tradeoffs, for sure. I love feeling like I can make my body move as fast as my mind would like it to. That perfect mind body connection is such a rush. I have to admit, even though it sounds a little cheesy, I've had 2-3 dreams where I fought Matrix style. Supreme rush. I guess I like the simplicity of just using your own body to fight too. Then again, dream weapons can allow for a great deal more creativity. But I think they may be a security blanket too. At least for some people. I once was taught by Yoda how to use the force and basically fight telekinetically. That was probably the coolest feeling. Oh! And light sabres are freakin rad, I must say.

I voted Kung Fu for two simple reasons:

1. I love to fight this way, being a huge matrix fan

2. I cannot summon weapons no matter how hard I try...
