Newbie Questions

I believe I read that while in a Lucid state, your dream will pass through time just as if you were conscious. (Like 5 seconds is the same while in a LD as being conscious) Is this true? Do people really end up in a LD for what feels truly like hours at a time? My second newbie fear/question is: Does anyone have any trouble waking up out of a Lucid dream? Does anyone think of the wrong things and have a bad Lucid Dream or I.E. bad "trip" Any other possible bad side affects like depersonalisation or something off the wall? -Thx- Check out my introduction in the newbie section!

I read in "exploring the world of lucid dreaming" that time does pass almost the same in a lucid as real life. Laberge tested this and he figured 10 seconds of real time was about 8 seconds in lucid (correct me if im wrong). I woke up too easily from my LD, but i think this is because I wasnt tired to begin with. I would like to have stayed lucid longer. I cant help you on your other questions, sorry

Ahem: Q1: People have dreams that seem like they last hours. To paraphrase Laberge, "It's like a movie, where the main character has gone to sleep. He turns the lights off, we see a few seconds of darkness, and then it is the next day. We perceive that hours have passed, but really only seconds have." Q2: I have never had trouble waking up, but it's probably different for everyone. You have to remember though, that you are simply asleep, and will wake up in the morning. Q3: Never happened to me. Remember, nothing can hurt you in the dream world. There you are not governed by fear. Q4: No idea what you're talking about. Hope this helps!
