my first LD

It didn't really last very long. Basically, I started out in a forest, and all of the sudden I thought to myself "hey, I'm dreaming!" I decided to try manipulating my environment by changing the number of trees. It was difficult, but eventually I was able to make some of the trees disappear. I saw some weird zombie-like creature where one of the trees had been and I got really scared for some reason. I made a spear appear in my hand and threw it at him, in order to kill him, but nothing worked. I woke myself up as soon as possible, and had an anxiety attack and was afraid to go back to sleep. As much as the first one scared me, I can't wait to try again.

Congrats on you first lucid! It'll get easier from now on. As for the zombie incident, realize that nothing can hurt you in the dreamworld, so next time you won't be so apprehensive.

Well, it is one step in a long journey. You will get there eventually. Oh, and things won't scare you after a while of getting used to them. Before you know it you will be able to do as you wish in dreams.
