      I Quit

its been a week +1, that i have been trying to get a LD. i have tried every tutorial, but no luck in having one. i have done every step into making it possible.
i quit , cause i can not believe anymore, and maybe there is no such thing as beening lucid in your dreams.
i wake now from an unsuccessful last, WILD-ing try, to turn my laptop. and
      say i quit.

i like to thank one membre, ROOJ, for helping me out on some question i had.
and to all the DREAM VIEWS membres,"GOOD-BYE".

Sounds like you haven't read every tutorial. You'd know that WILDs usually take much longer than a week to achieve. WILDs are one of the toughest techniques of inducing lucid dreams.

Have you been keeping a dream journal? Have you been doing reality checks constantly? Have you been paying closer attention to details in real life? Have you been thinking about lucid dreaming and/or dreaming in general throught the entire day and night?

For an inexperienced lucid dreamer, you need to have answered yes to ALL of these if you expected to have a lucid dream your first week. If not, keep with it an it WILL come. It takes longer for some people than it does for other, but we all have the capability. You just need to spark the fire..

      hahaha

It took me months to have my first LD.
      Quitting after a week?
      How old are you, 5?

He is right, don't give up so easily. It can take a long time to have your first LD, it just takes patience. I finally broke my dry spell after two and a half months, and it's such a relief to have my LDs back. Believe me, a good LD is well worth the wait.

If lucid dreaming was easy.. we wouldn't need a forum! C'mon not everything desired comes instantaneously.

But if you ask if lucid dreaming is worth the wait/effort.. the overwhelming response I've seen here is "yes".

Put some effort in! One week is nothing. I diddnt have anything untill almost 1 month.

Its fustrating but takes patients. Just relax and work on your dream recall for a bit

You'd rather ask for help, than just going in here, and say goodbye. Everybody knows, that you're asking for help in your post. This entire forum is made for helping other lucid-dreamers, so don't feel ashamed, that you need help.

And sorry for my other comment, but really, it's like going out in public and tell random people, that you quit trying to learn how to drive. I've found though, that this forum is a bit more helpfull, than the ordinary public. Oh well.

Lucid Dreaming is hard work.. not easy. I'd give up if I were you. Many people report their first LD after giving up on it, having concentrated really hard on trying to make it work.

Don't blame you FreeDreamer. It can be very frustrating trying to master lucid dreaming. Take it from someone who tried diligently to master astral projection 25 years ago and finally got so depressed from not being able to do it that he quit after a couple of years. And then tried lucid dreaming about 8 or 9 years ago and quit again after no success.

Finally, the third time around, I am starting to have some success with both lucid dreaming and astral projections, thanks to sites like this one.

So take some time off and stop trying so hard. It will probably do you some good, as sometimes things start to happen when a person stops trying so hard.

Since you've already programmed yourself by trying all of the different techniques and suggestions it might be a good time to just relax and let it happen naturally.

      Best of luck to you!

Im not having much luck with some of the techniques posted on the forums, but im not giving up even if I fail its a great way to pass the time and relax. I usually feel much better after attempting WILD when I get frustrated I just get some sleep and feel great afterwards.

The only LDs I had were DILDs cause back when I was a kid I had many nightmares and I kinda worked out a way to become lucid in those nightmares
so that I wont freak out so much. I was able to just close my eyes and get a false awakaning in those dreams just to get away from the nightmares.

After reading about dream control and everything I started to manipulate the times that I become lucid in dreams and I had one most sucsessfull LD with full control.

Dont force yourself so much on the techniques, you should look at it as a nice way to relax and pass the time.

k, i had them accidentally before i found this site and others like it, and then i had them all the time when i put a lil effort into it, then hit a dry spell cuz of lack of sleep with a new job, now i'm back into it and have better ones than ever

the best way is WBTB, it is so reliable and easy. if i WBTB i effortlessly lucid dream - i don't need to WILD or reality check or anything, i just dream and i KNOW i'm dreaing because i set the intent without even veryfing it. just set ur alarm for 2-3 hrs before whne u have to get up. drag your ass out of bed (i know this is hard), get a drink, walk around ur house, read something, then go back. it doesnt have to be 30 mins, usually i just stay awake for like 5 minutes (sometimes i just toss and turn in bed and dont even get out and it still works great). you should be still tired from only having a few hrs of sleep that getting back to sleep is NO trouble; just maintain your will to LD the whole time by saying it in ur head. if you wake up out of a LD, just lie still and don't open your eyes and you'll drift back to sleep and back to a dream

but try WBTb the way i described if you haven't yet

One week! You're gonna fail at almost everything you do if you only try for a week!
I first learnt about LD's when I was about 13 and didn't have one until I was about 16 (and this was a really rubbish one that I wouldn't really class as Lucid) Then I didn't have a "proper" one until about 6 months ago. Admittedly, I didn't "try every tutorial" like you said you have, I probably didn't know about this forum then and all I did was affirmations and reality checks, but I thought it'd be easier than it was. (Yeh I shoulda put more effort in)

Now I have them about once a week if I'm lucky and I don't know what I did to make them happen, but they came eventually.

Don't give up, it took me years, I'm not saying it'll take you that long at all because everyone's different, but like everyone says it is totally worth it, keep trying and once you have one, you are more likely to keep having them and then you'll never want to give up.

thats right. a lot of things take more than a week to learn. maybe you haven't ofund the right way for you yet, or maybe it's something that'll just take you a little longer. keep at it.

how's your dream recall? you should be recalling at least 2-3 and up to 4 dreams a night. sometimes i dont remember right away but if i lay in bed it comes to me. sometimes it comes to me in the shower, or even later in the day. when you do remember, WRITE IT DOWN. now i admit i don't do this most of hte time anymore bu when youre just starting out it's imperitave that you write down in full detail every dream you have. once you get better, just recalling them in as much detail as possible will suffice but for now, physically take a pen and WRITE your dreams down

Some don't have them for months-years.

You also shouldn't try WILD'ing as a first tehcnique, and should of had someone adopt you to help you with reality checks, a dream journal, beginner techniques, and to keep you motivated.

      Good luck!

also it's a bad habit to quit things you want to learn just because things don't go your way at first

SO many people have become successful at many things by banging theri head against the wall and having blind faith. a famours guitarist (dont remember who, i think it might have been van halen) could barely play at first, gave up for a while, then started again a few years later and went on to become a rockstar.

For the same reason I believe in Lucid Dreaming tiddlywink, I've done it a few times. If you ever happen to wake up in the middle of night and find yourself floating above your body looking back down at yourself, then you'll know what I am talking about. It's an incredibly exhilarating experience to be free from the body.

1 week? Wow, that's short. Plus I doubt that you have posted much for help on it, since your post count's only 4.

I myself haven't had a lucid dream yet, but I know why. Too busy. You need to be dedicated, have an actual routine that you follow. As Casualtie said, do reality checks, keep a journal, think about lucid dreaming during your waking life. I would suggest still trying to WILD, but you should try other techniques too. A good program I'd recommend is Infinity (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=36999)

Just don't give up. And if you have, do you really expect to learn new things? It takes effort, not a week of trying some random tutorials then quitting without asking help from ppl!
