What do u think about this?

For some time I stopped coming to the forum, stopped reading about dreams, but I was still writing 90% of them down.

      Than one day...

I fell asleep in a living room.
Because a few days before that, an older woman who was living next to me died and I saw her coffin being carried out of her apartment, I was dreaming that my brothers r dead and that I am sitting next to their bodies. Than I woke up in a dream at the same spot I fell asleep, and I heard someone ringing on the door, I looked who is it and i saw a bunch of people. My sister was near the door, I told her to get the door and Ill go to my room and put a shirt on.
When i got into my room, I took a shirt and I asked myself "Am I dreaming?, should i do a reality check", i thought how I don't have time to waste time with that now and I have to hurry.
On my wall there was an plus (+) formed from sunlight coming from windows. I tried to change the color of it to green. It didn't work, and I thought "There u fool, u r just wasting time". At that time plus stared to changing all colors and turned to green. I felt my heart pumping faster, and I was breathing faster, I was amazed how real it was. Like real life. Then every txt that I ever read about lucid dreams crossed my mind, and i tried to calm myself down. At that point I woke up, and I hear someone ringing on the door.

So I was wondering... Cause it was probably ringing while i was asleep, thats why i dreamed of it. But that lasted a second, and the dream "lasted" a few minutes more. Probably that ring was the cause if my "lucidy"

Well I think the doorbell may have been ringing in Real Life and you heard that in your Dream. This has happened to me to like with my alarm clock, the phone, radio, etc. And don't forget you always have time to do a reality check thats the difference between becoming Lucid or missing the oppurtunity. But at least you had a Lucid no matter for how long it lasted at least you had one. May you have many more to come.

      Sounds like a lucid dream! : D

Reality checks are something I have problems with, I don't do them enough, and as a result, I only do them in extreme situations in my dreams, such as being underwater and being able to breathe or talk, but even then, I don't do them 100% of the time. I had a weird period where I would do reality checks randomly in my dreams, but never did them in real life.

They are pretty important, and as Brandon Heat said, they're the difference between having a great lucid experience, or just another dream (even though regular dreams can be great).
