Well I've been interested in the subject of Lucid Dreaming for a couple of years now. And I think I joined this site about a year ago in hopes that I would be able to reach lucidity easier. However, I eventually gave up out of frustration, but I continued to read up on the subject from time to time.

Recently I've noticed that my dream recall has been getting stronger, a fact that I attribute to my normal sleeping patterns now that school is out. This morning I thought about trying to have a WILD but I drifted off. However, this time I was aware of the abnormality of my dream, as though I had retained some consciousness. I realized that I was dreaming and the excitement woke me up.

I was actually quite pleased with that little teaser, and I decided I might as well try again.

Next, I dreamt that I was home alone, and I kept getting the feeling that an intruder was in the house with me. I went outside to see if there was anything unusual but all I saw a police car which was parked across the street. I went back inside and I closed the door. However, I opened it again and the police car was gone but a cat was now staring at me. I shook my head, went inside and closed the door. Yet, I decided to check one more time and this time I saw that a large truck had apparently crashed into my own car.
I noticed the absurdity of the events, and suddenly my mind seemed to explode with the thought that I was dreaming. I preformed a reality check by holding my nose closed and I found that I could still breathe uninhibited. It was a truly amazing feeling. The surrounding area began to fade so I attempted to hold onto my lucidity by spinning in place. Everything stabilized and I began to walk down my street, noting a somewhat increased agility and trying to decide what I should then do. However, my experience was cut short as I heard one of my parents walking up the steps (in reality) so I decided to wake myself up.

Most amazing thing.
