Someone Was Trying to Stop Me

About a week ago, I had my first good-quality lucid dream (the account of the dream can be found here, with the title "I Yelled at the Sky.") All through the dream, I kept getting the feeling that somebody was either already trying to stop me from having a good LD, or that they were about to try to stop me.

First, they put a lawnmower and a garden tiller up in my room, which I kept tripping over, and which interfered with my attempts to summon objects. Then, they put a glass Christmas ornament on the floor, which I stepped on, and got glass all over my foot. Then, for the rest of the dream, I was plagued by the feeling that someone was coming up the stairs to stop me.

Has anybody else had an experience like this?

Lol someone was trying to stop you? Did you see the person who was doing this? From what it sounds like it was a just presence that you felt that was trying to create sabotage within your dream. You would also have to take into consideration that the glass ornament and lawn mower could of just been random things that were withing your dream. Or that you might have unconciously created themw ithout knowing it.

Although I have never had an experience like this so I cannot say for sure.

Never had anything like this either, though I do occasionally get kind of Paranoid feelings in dream and stuff.

I would have jumped down the stairs and fried his ass with a fireball.

The Christmas ornament might have been something that was just there randomly, but I'm pretty sure the lawnmower was put there. As for the person, he/she may have looked a little bit like my father, but I'm not sure.

Sounds like it was all just the randomness of a dream. I doubt a DC is possible of creating sabotage within a dream you might of just come to that conclusion. Although I could be wrong and the DC was just out to get you.

iv had this happen to be a number of times, what it is if u are having a dream in which ur sub-concious mind is trying to get a point across to u, u becoming lucid prevents the sc from doing so. So therefore it interrupts ur ld to try to get it's point across doing all sorts of annoying things, which therefore makes hard to stay lucid.

      Yeah, that makes sense.

A good tip in that situation would be to remain lucid but not really take much controll. Ya know? Let the dream take its coars/make its point so that you can get on with ur LD.

Ooh, good idea. Next time I get a chance to get lucid, I'll remember that.

I bet you unconciously were worried about not having a good LD, so it manifested in your dreams. Like whenever I'm in water in a dream I'm like, "Man, I hope a shark doesn't attack me," and bam, one bites my arm.

You get this when you're lucid? I get this when I'm awake!

Just sitting day dreaming I get this :p If I am thinking for example of riding my bike, I will always unintentionally turn to the right very sharply. Or thinking of a song, my brain will always sing the wrong note, and I will say "sing the right note god damn you", but it still doesn't

Ah, the "stubborn brain" phenomenon. I know it well.
