      Dream psychiatrist

An Idea I had since I first found out about Lucid Dreaming. Create like a little office and sit down with a dream psychiatrist to talk about your problems with. And since the psychiatrist is really you subconscious it wont lie to you. The problem is I think it would need a lot of testing. As DCs dont often make sense I dont know if this would be any real help.

But someone should try this and see if it works

Why limit it to a person? Make a bear psychiatrist.

      Hey there,

While this would certainly be a very interesting exercise from a psychological point of view, there's a little sentence there that got my attention:

"And since the psychiatrist is really you subconscious it wont lie to you."

While your subconscious might not lie to you, look up such concepts as repression, denial, substitution, internalising, psychological symptons, mirroring, and most importantly psychological resistance. In psychoanalytical theory, most mental problems are caused exactly because some unconscious thing is not allowed to 'become conscious'.

So I don't think your subconscious will be quite as clear and straightforward as you might think

Still, according to that same theory the proces of becoming aware of some unconscious issue is the first step of the proces to cure it. So there's merit in trying this kind of self-exploration.
