      Cool The dark forest

First lucid dream after a long dry spell.

I woke up early in the morning and fell asleep. The next thing I remember is waking up in a room that didn't even remotely resemble my own - save for its spartan furnishing - walking up to the window and opening it, completely aware of the fact that I'm dreaming. I've also been aware that the dream won't last for long, so I decided to take in as much of its bleak, dark beauty as I could before it fades.

And the sight that stretched outside was indeed one to behold. It was night, starless and dark save for the dim, red glow cast on the clouds by the lights of some remote and unseen city. Against this reddish backdrop there grew a forest of tall, bare trees stretching for as far as I could see, their black silhouettes swaying to and fro in the gentle wind.

The sight took my breath for a moment - and then faded, just as I've been expecting. It was almost too good to last for too long.

How did you know it would fade so quickly? Maybe that expectation made you wake up?

Incredible..I know the feeling of a profound experience like that...relax, know you can make it last, engage in the environment, and it should...beleif is key...

You can have many more of those wonderful mind-numbing moments if you have beleif in your ability.

      Hope you have many more

So how did that make you feel to see that vast field of dark trees like that?

I am pretty sure that would have creeped me the eff out...all of the nature scenes that I experience lucidly are usually lush green mountains on a sunny day...lol.

My first instinct would have been to rush out into the field of trees and see what popped out. I know what you mean when say you knew that the LD would be over quickly...its like your mind knows how much time it has allotted for the conscious experience of a dream.
