      Horay!

I believe I finally had a lucid dream! I've only been trying for about... a month? Maybe a little longer, maybe a little less, can't quite remember.

I was in school and a DC told me I was dreaming and I became lucid. I closed my eyes and ended up by a lake. I figured I'd fly for the heck of it and had to jump a few times before I took off.

I don't remember too much else, but was kind of disappointed with myself. I'm not into LDing so I can be Superman and go on a power trip, but I did anyway. I think I may have had a false awakening, but can't be too sure.

Every once in a while is fine, but I'm hoping to get something a little more profound out of LDing. At least I finally got my foot in the door!

That's great news! I'm currently on my month long quest (hopefully not that long) until I LD and I was wondering what techniques you've been using to get there... Like did you dream journal every night? Did you identify dreamsigns and follow the steps? Or did you experiment by yourself and discover your own method?

      Or...

      On the other hand...

      Was it just dumb luck?

I have been keeping a dream journal every night, and that has been very helpful. I have been trying to WILD, and am getting closer when I really try, but I haven't really had the energy to put into it lately. I really cannot find dream signs in my dreams, because they are so thoroughly different. Different place, time, people, everything, they are not alike in any way. I have been doing RC's, but do need to step that up. But I would write my first lucid experience off to dumb luck! Hope that helped.
