      pain in my dreams.

i have heard a lot of people say that in their dreams they do experience Mild to heavy pain. i have not experienced any pain in my dreams. in a dream a few days ago (not lucid) a guy tackled me and started chopping my chest with a hatchet. but it was going right through me. (i should have used it as a dream sign)

does pain only occur in lucid dreams? or does pain only occur when you believe it can?

I've had dreams where I would wince expecting pain but nothing would hurt but last night I tried in a lucid to feel pain by dragging my hand on some pavement and it actually hurt. I half woke up and it felt like my hand was on fire. Pain doesn't bother me though as long as I'm not physically being hurt.

I can feel pain in my dreams (don't know about lucids yet). I've woken up multiple times because of a very painful dream.

lds more vivid and realistic? i think dreams that arent lucid are more realistic because you can have more fear.

I don't know. I think it depends on the person. I've read posts here from people who say they can feel pain in dreams, and others who don't. Personally, I never seem to feel pain in any dreams (lucid or otherwise), even when things happen that really should hurt. I'm not sure whether I've never had a dream where I felt pain, but I sure can't remember one.

Pain is the same anywhere, everywhere..

A mere signal to alert an individual of harm..

Thus, it can be felt anywhere, indeed!

i once felt the pain of crows pecking at my skull. definitely not enjoyable. on a lighter note, i have also fully tasted chocolate and certain other foods while dreaming. i never really understood that.

I experience everything in the dreamscape just how I do in the real world. Pain, pleasure, touch, taste, and weirdly, smell. The last one is weird because in the real world I can't smell. In dreams, I can smell as well as normal people in the real world. This said, someone tried to throw a petrol bomb at me the other day in a dream, and it passed through me. She hung her head and said "ok, you might as well go home now" So rather than waking, I went home!

I rarely feel pain in dreams but it can and does happen to people. And I'd go as far as making the claim that dream pain is exactly as real as waking life pain. After all, pain is all in the brain, whether the stimuli be external or internal. So, if you dream of feeling pain it's because you are feeling pain in a very real way.

      Unhappy I felt pain!

man, on my first lucid dream,
I was stabbed in the leg by an old man with a spear, and it was the worst pain I have ever felt.

So, yea if someone trys to hurt you in a lucid, use some superpowers quick or it can ruin the dream.

But if you expect to not feel pain (because you know you're dreaming and that nothing can hurt you) then most likely you won't. I think expectation and fear account for a lot of dream pain, if not most or all.
