      Oh. It was a dream

The other night I woke up (or so I thought) and I awoke with dream paralisys, I was staring up at the lights and could not move. I thought cool. Dream paralisys. I then must have fell back asleep. When I awoke a couple of hours later I realized opon recalling the insident that I must of been dreaming of sleep paralaisys because my lights were not on as they were while I could not move. - Wierd

It could also be that you woke up in sleep paralysis for real, and hallucinated that the lights were on.

Better do a reality test next time just to be sure.

Ah, but that's the whole point. If you were in fact dreaming, then you weren't really paralysed. You could have just gotten up and done whatever RC you wanted.

Btw, is it RT or RC? On the ld4all forum we use RC, lucidity.com uses RT. I think this site uses RT; but I'm not really sure. hehe

DV referrs to them as RTs (intro/tutorials), but I'm pretty sure most people here recognize both abbreviations.

REMUS: Your avatar kicks a$$ by the way.

It's called hypnagogic hallucinations, and it often occurs while you're in SP. Sleep paralysis can be considered an inbetween state between dreaming and waking. You may see your actual bedroom, but you may also see a lot of dream content at the same time. (Many people report seeing people/spirits etc. while in SP).

edit: Sorry, that's hypnopompic hallucinations. Hypnagogics only occur while falling asleep.

That makes a LOT of sense to me. I'll have sleep paralysis during false awakenings quite often, and I'll be in my bed, and in my bedroom, but 1 or 2 things might be off. Like it will appear to be night but really be daylight or vice versa.

"hypnopompic hallucinations" Cool, now I know what they're called!

Ditto. Thanks for the info. That is pretty cool
Hypnagogic or hypnopompic hallucinations are visual, tactile, auditory, or other sensory events, usually brief but occasionally prolonged, that occur at the transition from wakefulness to sleep (hypnagogic) or from sleep to wakefulness (hypnopompic). The affected individual may hear sounds that aren't there and/or see illusions. These visual and auditory illusions are very vivid and may be bizarre or disturbing to the victims.

I usually use RC myself, but am now being wierded out.

Here are work, we have a concept called Release Candidate. It is kind of like the final BETA version of the product and involves a week of intensive testing before we kick it out the door.

I keep getting e-mails somthing like:

"RC testing will begin on Monday"
      or
      "RC testing is 50% complete"

It keeps blowing my mind. It's a wonder that is hasn't become a dreamsign yet
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...
