It could also be that you woke up in sleep paralysis for real, and hallucinated that the lights were on. |

The other night I woke up (or so I thought) and I awoke with dream paralisys, I was staring up at the lights and could not move. I thought cool. Dream paralisys. I then must have fell back asleep. When I awoke a couple of hours later I realized opon recalling the insident that I must of been dreaming of sleep paralaisys because my lights were not on as they were while I could not move. - Wierd |

Ah, but that's the whole point. If you were in fact dreaming, then you weren't really paralysed. You could have just gotten up and done whatever RC you wanted. |

It's called hypnagogic hallucinations, and it often occurs while you're in SP. Sleep paralysis can be considered an inbetween state between dreaming and waking. You may see your actual bedroom, but you may also see a lot of dream content at the same time. (Many people report seeing people/spirits etc. while in SP). |
