My First Attempt

Hello, fellow dreamers. I just got into LD's a few days ago and decided to finally try it last night. Unfortunately it didn't work. BUT! I had to wake up at seven this morning to take care of my daughter while my wife went to work. I fell asleep on the couch at around 8 a.m. with LD's on the brain. Here's what happened: First I got a vision of my mother's front yard back in my hometown. There was a truck parked on the grass and it was sinking. I knew I was dreaming, but it was so blurry. This wouldn't count as an LD, I don't think. But, then I woke up. When I closed my eyes again, I realized I could open them WITHOUT opening them. I saw a corner in some room I've never seen before. I thought "Wow, this is cool because my eyes are still shut". The image flickered a bit, almost like watching an old 16mm film. All the while, I knew I was trying to induce an LD. I was consious of that fact the whole time. Then I woke up. But I couldn't move. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't move anything. I remember being afraid because I couldn't move my hands. I'd gone to sleep with FOXNEWS on in the background and I could still hear (but not see) the announcer. Only thing is, every other word sounded like a burping sound, only more prolonged. Kinda creepy. Then I got a whooshing noise in my ear and felt a bit of pressure. I closed my eyes again and felt myself actually SINKING into the couch! It was very distinct and the whooshing noise and pressure continued. Then I opened my eyes and was awake for real. I can't wait to try that again!!!! I'm new here, but I'll be coming around a LOT more often after this morning.

Congratulations ! To me it sounds like you were having some sort of an unwanted WILD with a few false awakenings ! Was this your first ?

This was my first conscious attempt at an LD. I may have had another at some point, but I don't remember. I do remember one other FA when I was a kid. I didn't know what the hell it was until I read about it a few days ago. At least now I know my old trailer isn't haunted! lol
