      Devil Rider??

I'm not sure what this is but some have called it Devil Rider. It all started when I was around 10 yrs old. I would go to sleep and wake up to a pressure on top of me and sometimes I would see visions of things, shadows, or a family member laying next to me, etc. I would yell out for help but I can't seem to yell, or say anything. Sometimes, this thing would try to rape me or tug me. At times, the episodes occur several times within the hour and I would be so exhausted. I used to be afraid when I was younger about going to sleep at night. It happens anytime of the day when I'm taking a nap, even with the lights on. Some people tell me that it's trying to take me soul away. I've been to church and my pastor told me to tell it that, "I'm the child of Jesus, leave me alone". but that didn't work. Some say it might just be sleep apnea. As I grow older and have more sense of spirituality, this thing doesn't bother me much. But it still occur every once in a while. Also, my little sister and some friends have this problem too. They say they would hear wind before this thing starts. Recently, a few nights ago it happened to me and I was afraid in a way. My boyfriend laid next to me and I called out to him. He didn't hear anything until it suddenly stopped. It occurs while I have a dream too. In one dream I got lost trying to go somewhere, and all of a sudden it started. Has someone experience this or know something about it?

      1) My own experience with "negative spirits" that take on a family member's form or close friend's form is that they are trying to get you to put your guard down so they can induce more fear.
      2) This sounds like sleep paralysis. Remember that in dreams, there really are no sounds or physical restraints. You can overcome this by inducing lucidity (realizing you are dreaming) and creating sound in your mind rather than in your throat. Fear will inhibit this ability.
      3) I believe in spiritual/demonic harassment and oppression and have had many similar experiences.
      4) If you are truly a child of God, nothing can take your soul away... but some may try to convince you of this.
      5) Saying things like this will not work unless you truly believe what you are saying. If you are reciting it as a formula or superstitious talisman, it will not work. Pray about these things before you sleep.
      6) I believe sometimes things like demonic/spiritual harassment can run in bloodlines or family/ancestral lines.
      7) Many times any kind of fear or anxiety can trigger these "attacks."

It sounds like you are Christian. Is this true?

Hi! Thanks for replying. I just found out that this is called "sucubus for men and incubus for women". It's a demon who lies on the person and tries to have sexual intercourse with that person. It's pretty similar to the movie called "The Entity" which was based on a true story. There is a way to get rid of it through Deliverance and Spirituality which I will want to learn more about.

Sleep paralysis is the experience of waking up (usually form a dream) and feeling paralyzed, except for being able to breathe and move the eyes. Hypnogogic hallucinations and sleep paralysis may occur together. These conditions are common in people with narcolepsy but can also effect others, particularly people who are sleep-deprived. Although a pretty terrifying event, these events are not physically harmful. There are two major types of sleep paralysis: common (typical) also known as CSP and hallucinatory (hypnagogic) sleep paralysis known as HSP.[/b]

It is sleep paralysis, I've had it a few times and know exactly the panic you feel during the episode.
It happens when you wake up before your body and can't control or function. Many people see visions of demons, feel an evil presence, and have other things happen such as the things you named.

It is so common that theres multiple names for it in multiple countries. In Asian countries, you can loosely translate their name for it as "ghost pressing" because it feels like something is pressing down on you and you usually see a vision/feel an evil presence.

Incubus/succubus are mythological creatures that do not exist.

it is not sleep paralysis because you are actually awake when it happens so inducing lucidity will not work also it is incubus for men succubus for women

Hi! Thanks for all the replies. All of you have been helpful. I'm not sure exactly what it is I'm experiencing. I've heard different opinions from everyone and will do more research on it. Hopefully I'll find the answer.
