      Out of curiosity.....

does anybody have lucid dreams where they don't do something impossible or something they would never do in real life? I mean, not intentionally, I had a lucid dream last night where I essentially walked around and talked to my friend about lucid dreaming...
is this a common thing? is it a beneficial thing?

      Hey there,

I don't do too many fantastic things in my lucid dreams. Usually my semi-lucids are more "fantastic" then my lucid dreams. And I've certainly had lucids where I spend the entire lucid dream just observing my surroundings (and being in awe of them), or just interact with dreamcharacters.

I've also had lucids where I just interacted with dream characters.. almost like I was in a non-lucid dream and was just an aware participant.

I don't hate having these lucid dreams but I often wish I had "done" a little more since I was lucid after all.

      I know what you mean.

I really wonder what could be achieved if we lived our lucids like real life though. I mean, we learn so much in real life without flying or screwing random pedestrians, right? So what might be the new focus of lucid dreaming if we ignored the common indulgences? What would consume our thoughts in lucid dreams if not doing the impossible?
I'm pobably not so veteran a lucid dreamer to reeally know what I'm talking about; as of now I like to just have some fun. But might it be a beneficial learning device to ignore all the impossible feats and just live it like real life?

but that's my point, maybe you CAN or even should make use of these kinds of lucids. Maybe it would be a richer experience if our lucid dreams were subtler. Our dreams are composed of our vision of life, so maybe we could get alot more out of lucid dreams if we stuck to the arena we are familiar with. At the very least it might be easier to familiarize yourself with lucid dreaming this way no?

I have alot of lucid like this actually. In general i like to treat lucid dreams alot like real life. I don't go around blowing people's heads off and things like that, i treat dream characters with respect (unless they annoy me) and be friendly with them. The only impossible things i can think of that i do i lucid dreams is fly, and steal cars but i do use my powers if dream characters turn on me or something.
