      Was this Lucid?

Hey, I'm new here and after browsing around just decided to sign up. Now, I've always been interested in LD's but I don't think I've ever had one, you should remember if you have right? Therefore if you did and didn't remember it never happened!

But my problem is, about a week ago I had a Nightmare. Now everyone has nightmares but this is a little different.

I was in a pretty drab and dimly lit room, and was speaking to someone (who wasn't even there). I was telling them that I have to get up to the room above me (god knows why). Then I noticed along the room was a huge transparent door with stairs going up (to the room). I then proceeded to tell the person that it was raining ('look you can see the raindrops!'). This is were it gets pretty weird, I hear muffled footsteps above me (presumably from the room) and an elevator beside me starts working. This man looked religious (catholic-ish) and had colorful robes, he was looking around, for me I think. Once the elevator reach my room he saw me and his face screwed up with anger, he lifted his arm and thrusted it my way. I flew up in the air and kinda froze, this is where I started feeling the sensation. It didn't hurt, I was just shocked that I could feel it, a tingling pricking feeling all around my body, then I woke up slowly going ' aaah' aargh' (not screams but tired moans).

So sorry for the long post and I hope someone can help me out eh?

      Thanks alot!

No, it wasn't a lucid dream. A lucid dream is where you know that it's a dream during it. That just sounds like a regular nightmare to me. The tingling sensation from your dream was probably from real life. How you sleep can affect how you feel in your dream.

Shawshank, I have to agree with ninja9578.. it doesn't sound like a lucid dream.

Lucid dreaming is merely the "awareness" that you are dreaming WHILE you're dreaming.

Had you ever said (or thought) to yourself, "I'm dreaming" and, once having said/thought that, BELIEVED it to be true.. If so, then you were definately lucid.

Next time, if you're in doubt, do a "reality check". The reality check that has never failed me is the "plug my nose and see if I can breathe" reality check. It never hurts to do your favorite reality check a couple of times or even do two different ones.. just to really convince yourself!
