      Terribly confused =[

Okay, so! I'm completely new to this whole lucid dream bit and I remember my theatre teacher, who has a degree in psychology, telling us that it's not necessarily the best thing in the world and all that good stuff.
Anyway, I've had a lot of time on my hands this week and I found this website to kind of help me become lucid in dreams.
      ...I think it worked.

Last night, I kept waking up and falling back to sleep, as I usually do. Finally dozed back off around 4:30 and had some crazy dream:

I was on this property that had a huge mansion and this old church attached to it. It seemed like they were filming a movie/musical, but I didn't see cameras or any of that.

A young boy dug this huge hole so that he could get into the basement of the church. The priest found out and then he called this other woman in to reprimand the child. All of a sudden, he starts singing about how there are ghosts on the property. Out of no where, these people in just white and black sheets start dancing and singing along to this tune. I start freaking out and running all over the place so they don't see me and come after me.
The last line of the song was directed at me and it was something like, "running up the staaaaairs!"

I started to run towards the stairs, but there were too many of these "ghost" figures that I missed completely. I stopped. Then I said, "wait, I'm dreaming?" Then all the ghosts just looked at me and smiled as if they were my friends and just waiting for me to figure this out! I then said aloud, "how the hell am I going to wake up?" Hahaha! I didn't do any of the reality checks or anything, though =[

I tried to change the place that I was in to my school, but I felt like I wasn't strong enough to do it or I wasn't focused on it. So, I turn around and then the place becomes a mall. Cool. Didn't ask for it, but I'll take it.

I start jogging in the mall with one of the ghost people who took off their sheet and then this guy gives me a nasty look. I then start to like jog, but jump super high. I didn't ask to do that, either =[ Anyway, I spit in his hair and for a second I thought of the consequences, but then I realized that I was dreaming again and I yelled it at the top of my lungs! "I'm DREAMING! I AM DREAMING!"

I finally get into a store and the ghost that was there before turned into my friend, Regina. We were still jogging around the store as if it were a track. I started to go REALLY fast... and I'm not a fast runner, at all ;] So, I'm running and running and then there is this glass wall with some guy on the other side. I thought that since I was in a dream, I could just run right through it. Nope. SMACK. I didn't even fall back, though. No pain! Regina just started laughing hysterically at me. Jerk =[

Continue the jog and this random guy in a white suit goes, "what would you like today?!" and I was like, "get my friend here a maaaaacbook!" What do I see pop up everywhere? Macbooks. Just on shelves and displays.

I start to jog again and I look back and Regina isn't there. I call her name and then she starts jogging out from the bend! "I'm dreaming! I'm dreaaaming!" And then I felt myself waking up. I tried to think of some other place to go, but it was too late. Woke up and I literally said, "WTF?"

Anyway, I'm confused about this whole thing. It just didn't feel realistic. Well, I don't know. I guess it was. Now that I look back on it, it doesn't feel real. I'm sure it was at the time.
But how come I wasn't controlling my dreams completely? Like I didn't decide to start jogging around. I just did it. I don't know why I spit in that guy's hair. I wouldn't have done that in real life. But I knew I was dreaming?
      All too confusing!

Definitely not going to tell my teacher until I get to the bottom of everything.

Do you guys shed some light on the situation?

P.S. Either way it was freakin' awesome ;] ;] ;]

Yups well you don't always have control in Lucid Dreams, you can be concious and know you are dreaming and also have no control. I have
had some LDs where I have had no control and some where I have had
control for some of it and no control for other parts of it yet. I think
that my LDs are becoming more controlled over time as I make sure to
anchor myself in the dreamworld when I become lucid and also slow
things down too and that helps me to take more control. I have only had 18 LDs and as of yet I havn't had any were I have been in complete control.

It sounds like you had some control as you summoned the macbooks and you summoned your friend so you definately had some control there in my opinion. You also controlled a change of scene as even though it wasn't the one you wanted you still got a change. Maybe you are going to be good at this as this LD certainly got a lot of promise

The good news is that as it was your first LD you had an immensely long
LD. Many people have LDs for their first times that last only a few seconds
at most, so well done there.

We do things in dreams and in LDs that we wouldn't do in real life - that is
the good thing about dreams, especially Lucid ones So I wouldn't worry about that! Thats the whole idea of being good at LDing is that you can do stuff you always wanted to do that isn't normally acceptable.

When you look back on LDs just like memories of a real life event they don't seem as crisp and as real as when you are in them. I think that if you make sure your dream recall is the best it can be by keeping a dream journal then you will find that remembering the LD will be more real and as if it really happened.

Why not start a dream journal here on Dream Views and put that LD as your first entry and build on things from this point. Have a look at the Dream Journal section of the site to see how others do it

      Thank you so much, Namaste!
You made me feel about a thousand times better! ;]

I'll take your advice and start up that dream journal!

You know, its funny because it didn't seem to last that long in the first place.
I honestly may have been sleeping for an hour and change.

Another hidden talent: LD! ;] ;]
