      Second Lucid Dream - I'm so Happy!

      Finally!

      It's taken me about five months since my first one and I've finally had my second. I may have had another in the same night as well, but it was short and I've lost most memory of it.

      I've been practicing my dream recall for months and I've been able to remember at least two dreams a night; I don't write them down, however, and usually forget them after another night depending on how vivid they were. Before, even when I kept a journal I sometimes couldn't remember a dream even though I had wrote it down.

      Last night I was graced by a short, but sweet, LD. The strange part about this one was that I became lucid without much provocation - it just clicked. Does that happen to anyone here?

      Anyway, it began inside a theater that was more like a barn. There was a show playing in front of me that I was not paying attention to, all I can remember were the lights and flickering of the projector. There were people around me, but they were nameless and faceless. They were of no concern. Then, quite suddenly, I just became aware of my dreaming state. I thought, "hey, didn't I fall asleep a few minutes ago? I must be dreaming." Sure enough I was.

      The movie screen was too big and fuzzy for me to get a clear sense of what was going on, and a part of the movie was being played off to my right. Investigating further, I discovered that the projection was being played over a doorway and that I could walk through the light. I did so, and ended up in a back room of the barn. To my right again there were a few wooden steps leading up to a back brick wall. I climbed them and reached a dead end at the top. Since I was lucid, however, I decided to attempt to pass through the wall or break it down. When I touched it, the material took on a canvas or tarp like effect - I was able to push it away from me and it rippled a bit but not like water - it 'felt' thin. Unfortunately, when I leaned against it I fell into the crack between the 'wall' and the stairs.

      I ended up in the middle of a clearing in a forest. Here, I reminded myself I was lucid and asked what I should try. I remembered that I always wanted to pilot a big robot, which is true even though I'm not a fan of Japanese animation, so I told myself that I will now be inside of one. However, instead of simply being put inside of the cockpit of one, I just got really big. Here I had a little trouble maintaining the reality around me. Since I was in a forest and there were many trees, I was worried that I may not be able to create the environment with my mind. I think since I had this fear much of the forest turned into grey squares that appeared or disappeared depending on which way I moved. I walked a bit, found a building to smash and did so, and then the dream abruptly ended.


      I was a bit disappointed when I awoke, so I told myself that the next time I fell asleep I would be lucid again. I think I had an extremely short bit of lucidity in which I could jump really high, but my dream confused me and told me that I shouldn't become lucid so much otherwise I'll 'run out' of lucid juices, I suppose. It was a bit strange.

      I think I know now when to try to become lucid. I need to tell myself to do it after I wake up for the first time in the morning - if I wake up. I think I'm a little more concious in my dream at those times and can figure out that I'm dreaming a bit better. Hopefully that was my problem with not becoming lucid - I'm going to have to experiment a bit more, though.

      Anyway, thought I would share - for my own record as well.

      Hey AcidBasick...
      Congrats on the 2nd LD!

      I tend to find that my subconscious tries to confuse me after being lucid for a while.
      Usually by saying something really deep that has absolutely no meaning.
      It gets me pondering, and I lose focus.

      Usually it doesn't end that abruptly, you either fade into the dream, or feel the waking world coming around. At least in my case.

      Try some more, and hopefully its not persistent

      Mornings are the bst time ,I think ,to lucid dream. Wake up and go right back to sleep. Isnt that what you call a WLID? Worked really wel for me this morning.

      No, a WILD is when you go straight from being awake to being in the dream. It can only really be triggered that way or in an afternoon nap though.

      Thats what I meant. Like waking up and then going back to sleep, while retaining conciousness. Does that sound right?
