unsettling experience

I had a very unsettling LD experience quite recently. After discussing with a friend about various techniques for going lucid, I thought that, as I wear glasses, if I checked that I had them on in the dream, this would trigger the experience. This worked really well for a couple of weeks. However one night, I couldn’t feel my hands to check so I imagined a mirror for me to have a look in to check if I had my glasses on. I was totally shocked to see a complete stranger looking back at me.

Really not sure what to make of this. Any advice?

Its a dream it's probably going to be weird. I wouldn't be to surprised _any_ thing can and dose happen

Maybe just your ego playing hide and seek

It's scarier when its happens in RL sober and think "is this who I am...?"

That happens quite often to me when I look at myself in mirrors in my dreams. For the longest time, I feared mirrors when lucid for this reason, but I got over it.

Once you are used to it, it can be quite fun to "explore" your looks.

Don't fret about it, I rarely look like myself in mirrors when I LD.

Same with me. There is usually always something "not right" when I look in mirrors. But I have learned that it can actually be quite fun to mess with my looks in mirrors. I can make myself look pretty strange.

its deffinately a sign man. it means you are confused and not sure who you are. your subconscious knows it but you don't... deep...

Could be right... It's annoying because I have gone from being able to ld quite easily, to being totally out of practice. You guys will definitely get me flying again.
