Emptiness in a Dream Character's Skull?

I was wondering if a few of you experienced lucid dreamers could give me a hand and test out a little quirk I had.

In my third lucid dream, I had a strange problem when leaving the dream. I began waking up just as I had gotten close to a dream character's face, but I couldn't seem to hold the image. Holes began to grow in it's surface and at one point I could see directly into the cavity where the brain usually is. Except, in this character, there was no brain.

I made note of it when I awoke.

I was wondering if anyone has ever 'investigated' the inner workings of a dream character while lucid?

I can't remember ever seeing inside a character while dreaming. My dreams don't get bloody.

I'm not sure if it's even possible, though; usually I, and I would assume the rest of you, are limited by some inherient inhibitions and fears. I was hoping, however, that some of you might be able to have enough control to actually open up a dream character. Now, I'm not suggesting pulling out a knife and begin cutting - that would be ridiculous. I'm more suggesting you will the character's skull open or something of the sort. However, now that I am typing this it seems more then a bit wrong to willing attack a dream character. I'm not even sure what their reaction would be. I assume they wouldn't be too happy about it.

Essentially, I would simply like to know if dream characters are composed of the same flesh and blood as any waking person would be. Mostly I'm very curious about seeing if our minds can reconstruct a brain while inside our own brain.

I'm going to attempt to do some tests of my own, but I'm not sure if I could overcome my fear of taking apart a dream character; after all, they appear human and I would need some serious control.

you gotta rememebr that the dream construct is not consistent like the waking life. You can find a brain or nothing or a rubber ducky. Depends on what your mind creates.

wierd, i would have to say that it would be whatever your brain wants it to be there. if you can imagine what a brain looks like right now, you can do it in a dream, if you want your dream charecters to have regular organs inside them, it probably will. if you want them to have wierd organs or stuff, then thats what will probably be in them.

Someone should do an autopsy on a dream character and see what happens.

      I forgot I posted this.

Gameover and Dreamer are right. It was a strange experience no less.

I'm trying to think why it would be empty. I read EWOLD and LaBerge points to schemas as being the main contributor to the content of dreams but I don't know which schema would make a dream character have no internal organs.
