      Hypnogogic quagmire!

Maybe some of you can help.

For the last week or so, I've been having a lot of trouble inducing LDs.
I wake up for my usual bodily function at 4 a.m. and spend from 4-6 trying to induce.

About all I am able to accomplish is to enter a hypnogogic state and immediately, as soon as I recognize it is a dream, I wake up.

All I am accomplishing is to go through the day tired because of sleep loss.

By the looks of it you are trying WILD?

Mabey this is because you are in busy perioid and stressing out? I dont know stress causes non lucid periods for me,also negative feelings seem to disturb my dream such as anxiety, rage, being annoyed, being in a quarrel,is this the case or are you pretty much having a normal day time life?

Things are pretty much normal. About the only new thing going on lately is that we are in the planning stages of a major home renovation.

I am trying to WILD. Think that's it? BTW, I've never been able to get WILD to work for me, usually, I get to about 10 and I'm out cold.

Well WILD is a really hard method,if been trying it myself and I also get to the hypno images and I hear sounds but then I get abstract thoughts that make no sense and I have snap myself out of it to prevent losing awareness but doing this simply get me back to the beginning,I succeeded a few times but its really annoyingly hard,I think the key is just keep trying, doing alot of disipline exersises works for me to increase focus to prevent slipping away in the abstract thoughts and go out.

I like the candle stare exersise,I simply puy a candle in front fo me in a dark room and concentrate on the flame, there is nothing there but the flame, the flame is all..like that..just looking at the flame, find you eyes wondering off focus on the flame again..try gettiung caught up in the flame but not slip away by simply just starting at it..you have to be aware of the flame..see it move..see it burn..lol, this might help to increase concentration

EDIT: start like doing it 15 mins..then 30 mins the next time..60 mins..if you have the time

Jealous. By the time I fall asleep, I've already forgotten the fact that I'm supposed to be retaining consciousness for about ten or fifteen minutes at least, or just gotten bored with it.
