      First lucid! very interesting..need advice

So i was driving down this road with my girlfriend and her brother and sister and we get to this park and its flooded so we hop out of the car to walk across the water and i see two giant snakes (i assumed anacondas in the dream) and the snake cuts me off and then strikes me in the face...it was terrifying but i then realize im dreaming because i should be dead but im perfectly ok so i do the nose thing to make sure and i could breathe and then i felt my excitement raise and i made sure i stayed calm cuz the last time i woke up immediately when i knew i was dreaming cuz i got excited...so i decide to kill the snakes and i try to get a weapon but at first just a sharpened pencil appears in my hand? so i kill one snake with that and then i concentrate real hard and the pencil turns into a broad sword and i kill the other snake...apparently they ate my gf and her sister so i grab her brother and i do the neo thing and if felt like my energy drove into the ground and then i shot up into the air and i was flying!! it was the most amazing thing..only problem is i couldnt go very high if i went towards the clouds i would just start falling? any suggestions?...as i kept flying i saw people i knew on rooftops in pajamas? and then i tried to fly through a window and i hit the glass and fell and when i did i tried to grab the ledge but my physical arm moved and then the dream slipped away....i could tell i didnt have complete control of the dream cuz i couldnt change the setting i just flew around where ever i was...what should i do next time?

Dang for a first that was a pretty good lucid dream.

Next time I would suggest rubbing your hands together, to stabilize the dream better. And
to change the scenery I would fly at light speed while thinking of you scene of choice. OR
just go through a door thinking of the scene of choice.

When you are flying, if you have faith that you will fly higher then you will.

It is all about believing you can do it.

Good job on your first lucid dream!

Don't worry about getting everything right on the first try. As you have more LDs you will have time to practice different skills.

For flying, I have noticed that if I'm not flying fast enough, instead of trying to make myself go faster, I try to imagine the things around me to move past me faster. For some reason that seems to be easier for me. So you could give that a try.

I have also had luck with imagining I had little rockets on my feet.

Anyway, congrats...and good luck on future LDs....

Controlling velocity and altitude is very difficult for me also. It must come with experience. I am better at it that I used to be. I can get up to several tens of thousand of feet but years ago I was lucky to get 10 feet off the ground.
