      Smile First lucid dream!!!

Im so happy I was amazing!! I was really surprised that I actually got one. I was just sitiing in my parents bedroom in the dream, and I suddenly realised that I was dreaming. I just thought to myself ooo im dreaming and I can do anything. The realisiation that I had actually got intoa lucid dream was just soo exctiing. I remembered to look at my hands, and it worked. The dream went on for a significant amount of time. It was just so surreal! The first thing I did was try to put my hands through the wall, because my first thought was walking through a wall. Didnt work though.......I then walked into the hallway, and saw my dad sitting in his study. It was as if I had just go out of bed in the night to go to the toilet. I walked into the bathroom. I wanted to try and fly, so I jumped into the air, and started flapping my arms. I only managed to hover for a few seconds.....Anyway I then jumped into the air and shot through the ceiling. The place I was in then changed...I was ina builiding. I decided to follow the layout of the dream. There was this big bigg book, so I walked towards it. These people tried to stop me reading it, but I managed to maipulate them by just thinking they were going to go away. There was no writing in the book, I tried imaginging that there was invisible ink but that didnt work. The one of the men guarding the book from earlier, and told me that I could not control me, and that He was some sort lurker that could go into peoples luicd dreams. I then changed the landscape I was in to deserted countryside, but he was still there. I them must have lost lucidity or woken up.
Does anybody have any good ideas for flying techniques??

Congratulations on your dream! I know it's exciting isn't it Anyway, flying techniques....hmm. It's just a matter of understanding that you can fly without any aid. Simply jump up and truly expect to keep going up. If you're like me, and don't want to use jetpacks or brooms, or wings or anything, try jumping into the air the way Neo does in the matrix. Bend down and act like you're charging up your jump, and then at the right moment, jump as hard as you can KNOWING that you will continue to soar through the air.

Otherwise, you can just do something like act like all air is water, and swim through it. Or you could conjure up wings, or a jet pack. It's all the same really, because none of those things actually exist, obviously, they are just things to help your conscious mind justify the ability to fly. You really don't need anything but your imagination

The "jump" worked for me last night!
      LD Counter (as of 07.25.07) = 5 (2 WILDs)
Short-term goal: Recall three full dreams a night for a full week.
Long-term goal: Have three LDs per week for one month.
Longer-term goal: Have one six-hour LD every night! (Shooting too high? We'll see.)
Waking life goal: Round up some NPSG equipment to study my own sleep patterns.

Em...I had actually been trying for while, but then I sort of stopped. Its weird because it's when I stopped that I had one! I had several last night aswell! I would just say keep trying, also it tends to work for me, after I have woken up in the early hours of the morning and then gone back to sleep thinking to myslef I will lucid dream!

Woot! I'm so happy for you! The more lucid dreams you have, the better you will become at manipulating the world around you. Keep it up and attempt some techniques in the tutorial section. That will help alot.

Cool i like it. Quite different than my LDs...
hmm dream lurker? Sounds quite scary. A bad way to fly is the superman way just think your a bullet in three seconds and your about to be fired.

Subjective, but works for me: Take a good long deep breath inn when "leaping of the ground" or a small hillside.. (Never jump from hights.)

I also had some trouble landing again.. And that is where I got this "trick" cause a dreamguide (an old wise being, in a young little girls body,) thought me how, by saiying I should exhale really slowly..

And that worked, and I got my feet back on the ground.

Then one time when I got lucid, I finnaly recalled that trick, but I could not soar/"fly", so I tested it in reverse, and it worked!

But as I said.. This is as subjective as not being able to turn on the lights, and all that other subjective truths one can see in movies like "waking life" ..

Just for the love of yourself, know the difference between objective reality, and subjective realities..
