      First lucid experience since childhood!!!

The little box on the top right of the screen tells me it's been over 2 months since my last visit. I guess I had kinda given up on the lucid dreaming for a while, as I wasn't having any success. But, as the title says, I had my first lucid experience since my childhood reoccurring dream. Unfortunately, it was very short = [ But here it is.

I was dreaming about a bunch of random stuff, and part of the dream was actual a reoccurring part, but I didn't catch it in-dream. At some point, I began to wake up, but it was happening slowly (I guess). The act of fading from my dream into being awake made me realize that I really was dreaming. I realized that I could go lucid, but that I didn't have much time. I closed my dream eyes and started patting my shoulder to measure my level of lucidity (wasn't a conscious decision, I just started doing it). I was focusing on staying inside the dream and making it real, and as seconds passed the patting on my shoulder started to feel really really real. Once it felt real enough I opened my dream eyes a little and the environment kinda made me think of being inside the Grand Canyon. It was like I was squinting though, and it all ended as quickly as it had begun. Needless to say, it was an amazing experience, and I feel like now that I've felt the water I can dive in.
