      Am I a natural?

Well..I JUST found this site today and I read through EVERYTHING...And I've notcied I have done everything that gives the sign of lucid dreams..I even remember them..For instance...A long time ago I played the game Resident Evil (horror, zombies ect..) And I had dreams about it...I couldent get it out of my head...I kept dreaming that The zombies were overruning my town and house and where trying to killl me..And I thought to my selft...Press start..go to quit...And I did And I woke up...This was about 4 years ago..Almost every time after Taht in which I had a Bad dream..I just went to start and quit...I also had A man who appeared in front of me who gave me something to get out of the dream...Who looked like my step father.....I have had alot of dreams like that for the past 3 years...Most notibly one where I was flying in the sky like dragon ball Z style (japanise fighting anime where they can fly and use their KI to fight) And I was with the characters of that show..And I thought to my self That I wanted a ball of energy to appear in my hand and it did...I have also had a dream about a wek ago that I was in my best friends house..I KNEW it was his house...but it was completly different...With some gorgeous woman...I felt so Good with her and Calm..But I woke up from that...I remember almost every dream I have ever had for the past 4 months ( those and the ones I have mentioned)....Does this mean That I am A natural to this or what?

Could be! By definition, if you are in a dream and you can say to yourself "Hey, this is a dream" and conciously analyze it while dreaming then it is a lucid dream.

Well...This is wierd....After I posted this last night...I had a dream where In the beggining I Questioned if it was real...Like...If anyone has sen predator...I was like him flashing vision modes and hearing the humans talk...And I heard myself say "Is this real" And I had visions of swirling colors and than I was in a library looking place...hard to explain...But it was foggy everywhere...And it lasted a good 10 minutes from my perspective...Is what I discribed here normal? The colors and the sound of me saying that...is that a normal start to actually CONTROLLING my dreams..?

sort of, what you are doing is noticing your dreaming but not really taking control, my definition of a proper lucid dream is when you are actually there feeling it, standing there in the dream world asif you were in the real world.

The definition of a lucid dream is simply being aware that you are dreaming. It doesn't matter if you can control it, but being aware is one (MAJOR) step in that direction. That's just what I understand. Think of the word "elucidate": to make clear, clarify. It just mean awareness. Control is awesome, though. I wish I had your skills, Guardian!

No, that is not a lucid dream.

Dreams that appear real do not indicate lucidity. They are simply more vivid dreams. In fact, the more real you believe a dream to be the less lucid you are.

I don't understand. How can you be aware and not control it? Even if you decide to just go with the 'flow' of the dream, you are still making an active decision in the dream; indicative of control. If lucid dreaming is not having control, then what is it? I think that awareness and control go hand in hand and are not seperate entities in themselves. One requires the other, and an absence of either results in something that is not quite a lucid dream.

At least, that's my take on it.

I would feel that I were cheating myself out on the true lucid dreams if I thought any other way; the ones where you have clarity and recall and plenty of control.

you can, i used to before i was able to lucid dream, basically your just watching the dream go by and you know in the back of your mind your dreaming but you just dont do anything about it.

although, all of my non-lucid dreams back then were in third person view and all my lucids were in first person, that was something that helped me go lucid back then.
now they are all through my eyes like the lucid dreams, which is cool but harder to lucid dream[/quote]
