First LD! (long read, dont enter if you dont want to read about someones experiences)

well tonight I had my first LD, a DILD!

A little background, I first woke up during the night at about 5 am. At which time I recorded my dreams, it was either that I remembered parts of 3 seperate dreams, or the 3 parts where all apart of one big dream. I definetly think it was just 2 dreams, and one had 2 different parts I remembered, but anyways...I spent close to an hour trying to get back to sleep. It was at this point that I realised that I had sort of "forgot" how to sleep normally. Since coming here im more aware of sleep and what can happen and how it does. I cant just fall asleep like before. But netherless I eventually fell asleep like before

On to the dream... A Level 6: “Reality Lucid” btw...

I awoke in my basement (a recurring theme, since two nights, I have attributed to me being asleep) on my excercise bike. It was dark, but at that point when your eyes have adjusted to the blackness and you can see enough to make it to the bathroom (you know that point ) I went to leave because I thought I had been riding the bike and just fallen asleep so my parents turned the lights off on me. My basement is rather large but its filled with stuff so there are little clearings in the clutter that you can walk in. In my path in front of me was a stuffed dog. It was something I have never seen before, and as I got closer to it it came alive (a brown bulldog of the dream variety?) and started growling at my legs (this was the point when I first started to realise that I was dreaming, but it hadnt soldified yet) so I immedietly picked it up and held it in a position so that it was on its back with my thumbs under its front legs and the rest of my fingers supporting its back. I carried it like this as I started to walk up the basement steps, the whole time it was squirming and typing to bite my hands. As I got to the top of the stairs I called out for my mom (thinking she might be in the kitchen) but I got no answer and as I got to the door and opened it everything was completely black, a much more absolute black. So I put the dog down and it either ran off or disappeared since I had shifted focus from it, and the idea that I was dreaming became a little more solid. I then remembered about rubbing your hands together to clear up the dream, so I did that and it worked. This was when I became positive that I was dreaming, and I got pretty excited. I remembered to stay calm so as not to get kicked out of it, so I did that as I walked down the hallway. I got to my little brothers room which is right after mine on the right. I opened his door with no real expectation about what to see. But I found him doing something (perhaps fixing the sheets) to a bed against the right wall (in real life there is only one bed in the room, there used to be another, but now there is a tv in that spot) he looked at me like I had walked in on him masturbating or something I said "Colin, I'm dreaming!!" and then was like "Ooooh Kaaaay..." and slowly closed the door. Next I went to my parents door which is right opposite his. Walked right in front of their bed and proudly proclaimed "I'm Dreaming!". They didnt say anything either but just started rustling their sheets like attempting to get out of bed. Not really wanting to see what my dream parents would say or attempt to do to me because of this intrusion. I tried to make the excuse "Um... well I was just here to turn of this light... I looked around for a light switch but didnt find one. Plus the light I saw and had been experience was more of a glow of a flourescent then tradtional light, it didnt appear to have any source.

I left that room, not before saying "good night" back to them of course. And walked back down the hallway. At the exit of it walks some guy, he looked about my age and height. So when I got close to him Im like "okay lets fight " I exchange one or two pushes and punches and then say to him "I want you to become worthy of challenging me" and then he does some sort of jumping round housse kick. It is still no match for me and I throw him against the couch that is opposite the entrance of the hallway (nothing in the house seems to be different then in real life except for the bed in my brothers room). When I do this I realise for the first time just how sharp and clear everything is in the dream, I didnt have my glasses or contacts on yet the resolution was amazing The only thing I really remember about this other guy was his eyes, some sort of soft marshmellow of a purple and blue mixture. I stared into them.

Keep in mind that this is all happening continously with no pauses in the "action" the whole dream couldnt have been more than 3 minutes (it was realistic enough that I can come to this conclusion) After my little exchange with this character I remembered "Silly zach, you should be looking at cool dreamscapes" so I tell this character to go away and the next time I turn to look at him he is walking off somewhere. I go to look for my shoes (wtf do I need shoes for ) and find one of my pairs but not the ones I want (double wtf) I go to put on of the first shoes on and then get pulled out into blackness. My eyes in real life are now closed and I open them for a fraction of a second before attempting to DEILD or MILD. but decide that I was too excited and wanted to record this one.

So there you have it, my first LD!

I can now see that I didnt perform any RCs during it, the closest thing being the rubbing of the hands. I did perform some when I woke up though

I was just acting on instinct throughout the whole thing, I could control my body and a little of that one characters behavior

      Two words. That was awesome!
Really, I also get to lucid the same way... ALWAYS without Reality Checks... Though I recommend you to do one always when you notice you are dreaming, 'cause it helps to stabilize dream. Gongratulations and many lucids to come
