I've only had a small handful of lucid dreams in the past, but I had a really amazing DILD last night, in which I took it upon myself to study mirrors. It was *extremely* vivid (thanks in part to the staring at my hands technique), and a lot of fun. Anyway, I won't bore you guys with details, heres my three main observations:

1. My reflection in the mirror was not distorted much at all. There was a little waviness in it (almost like looking into a pool...but not really even that extreme of distortions at all). I've heard people claim that you see crazy things in the mirror in a dream...especially when it comes to your face, but nothing too abnormal for me.

2. Touching the mirror. I noticed the mirror was like a liquid surface. No resistance whatsoever to move my hand through it. There was even a moderate, brief ripple effect when touching the surface. The most bizzare (to me, the most interesting) thing I noticed is that when I observed the area around my hand/arm when it was in the mirror, the glass appeared to be cracked (e.g., cracks extending outward from where my hand was crossing the plane of the mirror), but it all remained perfectly fluid. Another experiment I did was on a piece of furniture which had multiple, seperate, mirrors on it. I reached through one mirror with one arm, and another mirror with the other arm, and was able to touch my hands together on the other side.

3. Crossing over. After observing one mirror for a little while, I flew through it and into the other side. Just as I had expected (which was probably a self-fulfilling prophecy), everything was the same, only reversed. The entire room, my body, and even my motions were all reversed. I was still able to move around normally, but I my overall sense of left and right had gone haywire.
