      My First Lucid Dream

For the last year or so I had been trying WILD, unsuccessfully. It appealed to me because I was intrigued at the idea of going from waking consciousness straight into a lucid dream. I did not want to have to grow accustomed to reality checks or any of that, I just wanted to go from wake to lucid dream no strings attached. Unfortunately, this did not work, and I never went to a lucid dream with the WILD method. My body would paralyze itself and I would feel the tingling sensation and the rapid eye movements, but I would never get an out of body experience or a lucid dream. After a year, I finally gave up on WILD, and realized that I would have to incorporate lucid dreaming more into my waking consciousness by doing reality checks and whatnot if I ever wanted to have a lucid dream.

For the past week or so I have been interested in the WBTB method. After being awake for about 40 minutes, I decided to use the MILD. In my head, I repeated the mantra, “Next time I'm dreaming, I will remember I'm dreaming”. I repeated it so vigorously in my head and focused so hard that things really began to get weird. I focused my attention all too good on the mantra, because my mind wouldn't go to sleep, yet my body did. As a result, I accidentally performed the WILD method. I felt the tingling sensation and my body became paralyzed. Suddenly I couldn't breathe and I was hearing terrifying things, I don't remember what they were but I was absolutely horrified, and the fact that I couldn't breathe contributed further to my horror. To make it worse, my consciousness felt like it was out of my body. Also, I couldn't wake up or come back to normal consciousness, I was stuck there in that hell for anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds, I really couldn't tell. Then I was asleep.

Unfortunately, this accidental WILD didn't even work for me because as soon as I fell asleep I had a non lucid dream. It was a weird dream that I was in the hospital with a bunch of people. I only knew two of them, and the others I didn't even recognize. I just remember I was really thirsty and I drank Amanda's apple juice.

After this non lucid dream, I had a dream that I was at work, and I don't even remember the reality check I used, or if I even used one, but suddenly I became lucid.

Let me tell you, lucidity is amazing and completely worth the year of trials and tribulations that I faced to get there. I was walking around my workplace absolutely free, I knew I could do whatever I wanted, so I fornicated. Surprisingly, this wasn't as great as I expected it to be, as I got bored with it after a few seconds. So I went out to the lobby and flew outside through the ceiling. The ceiling didn't break or shatter or anything, I kind of just flew through it as if it weren't there at all. This was the best part of the lucid dream. I was free, flying solo where I wanted to go. I flew up up and up and had a bird's eye view of the city. I looked down on it and it looked a lot like a plastic model, which increased my lucidity and freedom even more because I knew that was ridiculous and that the city would look nothing like that in real life.

I continued to fly around freely until I landed in my own backyard, but it wasn't exactly my backyard, it had a lot of differences. My brother and Dominic and Isaac were there. I told them, “You guys, I'm having a lucid dream right now, look”. And I flew around in a few circles for them. Then I had a conversation with my brother telling him how amazing this lucid dream I was experiencing is. He told me, “Yeah, I'm having a lucid dream right now too. We must both be in the same dream right now, because I am also dreaming this dream.” For some reason I believed him and I thought we were both in our beds sleeping having the same dream and having a telepathic conversation with each other via the dream world.

After that I lost my lucidity and I was at a party, but it was during the daytime for some reason. I guess I thought that I woke up because i was telling these two chicks at the party how I had a lucid dream and how amazing it was, and explaining to them how to achieve one. They were pretty intrigued. Suddenly this dog comes up to me and starts barking ferociously at me like he is going to bite me or something. I tell the owner of the house, “Get that dog away from. I swear to God I'll fucking kill him. Get him away or I'll stab the fuck out of him.” The owner controlled the dog for a few seconds and then the dog came back after me. I said, “I swear to fucking God I'm gonna fucking stab him to death with this fork if you don't control him.” Then the guy said, “Go ahead man, he's not listening and he's being a danger to my guests.” So I stabbed the dog in the head with the fork. What happened was weird. The body kind of disappeared and the head with the fork in it kind of turned into a skull that was leaking yellow blood, which got all over the white carpet floor. I said to the guy, “I'm sorry man, I messed up your white carpet.”

      Then I awoke.

Congrats on achieving lucidity! : D

The WILD method is a bit too scary sounding for me, but it's cool that you went through with it regardless of the fact that you were horrified, that's really cool! : )

wow i am too chicken to even think about attempting the WILD method..you are very brave and im sorry it was so scary for you but at least you came out of it and are stronger and more experienced because of it it was very intreasting reading your experience with this lucid dream, how exciting that you got to fly all over the place that must have been amazing! the feeling of freedom it gives you is just a loss for words..the last dream you had about stabbing the dog with a fork..i have had a few dreams similar to that affect and it really depressed me and made me feel so guilty and horriable about myself for a long time. I hope you are feeling ok

Yes, it was incredible flying and the freedom I felt was beyond explanation.

Strangely, I didn't feel too guilty about killing the dog, even though I love dogs. Perhaps it is because the dog was so aggressive towards me. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The way I talked to the owner of the dog is pretty out of character for me, so I really wanted the dog to not exist anymore. If the presence feels evil enough to me, i have no trouble destroying it.

On the other hand, I feel guilty when I squash bugs, because they are harmless creatures doing their jobs. I try not to step on bugs as much as I did as a child.
